Here's one.

This is one of the reasons why it's tough to get the REAL value of a book on eBay, many sellers seriously overgrade and it makes the rest of us suffer.
When it comes to grading, I am no Camper, but I am pretty sure that is not anywhere near a 9.0. It looks like it has been wet or had tape on the spine or something.
I would pay $0.99 for it though.

Sad, but so very true.
At least you can tell from the scans basically what shape the comic is in, even as small as they are. A picture is worth a thousand words. Never go by the description alone. I need to see what a comic looks like and then bid accordingly.

Here is the description of an ebay comic....
Tell It to the Marines #5 GD+ Bright, Clean, Flat - Goldie 1952
Now look at the auction in this link......
Would bright, clean and a grade of GD+ be accurate?!

I don't think the grading is all that bad on the WMD (hey!). It may be a whole number high, but not as egregious as the other examples. On the Batman as VF, I'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. The G is very close to the F on the keyboard.

"The rating guide I use to determine grade are from the descriptiors provided on pages 14 & 15 of "Comic Values Annual 2006" by Alex G. Malloy."
Is that THE Alex G. Malloy???
That explains everything!
I guess I should consult with Alex before I write up my next batch of descriptiors...

The seller's description for Tell It to the Marines is very misleading and not a GD+.
Bright? Yes. Clean? No.
Regarding Where Monsters Dwell #4, would you call that keyword spamming or it is possible the seller doesn't know his comic collecting terminology very well?
Comics Values Annual doesn't use numerical grade points (based on my only copy from 2004) so to be accurate and honest he should've omitted the 3.0 too.
Also, for about the same amount of money, including shipping, you can get a better copy from kochcom:

Joe (Koch) is da man...
A very good seller with good BIN prices.
I haven't bought from him in some time, but I picked up a LOT of stuff from him a few years ago.

Mal.....I was more concerned about the keyword spamming. "CGC 3.0"....I think he must have broke this one out of the slab....'cause I don't see it anywhere!
But looking at the grading more carefully if he is calling this one a 3.0 (that would be a G/VG) I do not agree with that assessment. After the 3.0 it says "good-". I can live with a G- if he is actually grading it that. Too much spine damage for me and I don't like the color pull on the cover to be graded a G/VG.

habib, I totally missed the point on "CGC 3.0", thanks. I think we agree on the actual grade, I thought it was a whole number high, SB 2.0 at best. On the other hand, I'm only in 6th place in the grading contest.

This guy is one of my favorites. he keeps relisting his books when they get no bids. I can't understand it, bedcause they're all Near Mint!

This comic is in Near Mint condition. The cover is a bit loose.
I gotta jump on the rare, NM/cover is a bit loose variant of the Jetsons #1!

I agree guys!
This is the best NM/cover is a little loose variant I have ever seen!

Just look at the looseness of the cover and the fresh NM appearance!
Ahhhh.....It just doesn't get any better does it.......

What makes this particular variant such a highly sought after collectible is the fact that Hanna Barbera were such experts in the "a bit loose" covers.
It has to be more than a hair, but less than a smidge, in order for the collectible to be worth anything, but that cover simply nails "a bit loose".

Title description:
"Comic Book Collection. Ten Comics!"
Oh my goodness!! Where would I put that massive of a Comic Book Collection!! [smilie=dontknow.gif]
http://cgi.ebay.com/Comic-Book-Collection-Ten-Comics_W0QQitemZ6637399446QQihZ012QQcategoryZ35770 QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Although upon reading the description the collection seems to have shrunk to only 8 comics. Now that is a much more manageable collection if there are only 8 comics. [smilie=creep.gif]

Whew! 8 comics.
Even that is quite a collection and what are you going to do with 8 comics? I mean, honestly, what could one person do with 8 comics?
To think that the average human being could handle owning 10 comics is simply laughable.
I'm glad the seller saw the error of his/her ways and cut it back to 8.
EDIT: Holy cow. I had a Black Axe #1.

Hmmm, I wonder if it would have gotten bids if titled something like "Return of the Jedi, Canadian 75-cent edition, bagged and sealed"?

Wow... maybe if we can get fifty of us together, we can each chip in $2500 and take this auction!
I don't know if I've ever seen a $500 s/h fee for 100 comics. I think it would be cheaper to fly to Chicago, rent a car, and then drive back home.
