A friend I know was getting ready to move some stuff in another warehouse and he wanted to get rid of some of his independent stuff. I ended up with 1128 comics. This was all the horror stuff. I'm pretty much a completist and I ended up finishing 101 sets (Some of these were 1 shots). A lot of his stuff I've never ever seen before. Always fun to find stuff you've never seen, especially the horror stuff.

I do too. I didn't know about these magazines until the Marvel Essential of Tales of the Zombie came out. I've got 5 out of 11 of them now. They either go too high or I'm always getting outbid on ebay. I found this issue visiting a comic shop I've never been too yesterday in Tennessee.

This is a great cover. It sure doesn't look like Jae Lee's work, compared to his Submariner work. Check out the lone bullet in mid air.

Glad you got it. Was hard to part with as I paid so much ;)for it. I will never see another copy that nice. Oh well its horror and its a #censored# to find in high grade anyway glad I could help out. I think you should really consider slabbing that copy if you are into that its beautiful front and back at least a 9.6 probably higher.

I got this one when it first hit the stand. I always liked Bisley's work even when it was a little exaggerated. Painted covers always stand out.

I was going to start a new thread about this but since we have this one... Has anyone read Twisted Tales which is really isn't modern as it came out in 1982. I scored a couple of issues and just read the first issue and one story from the second issue. Pretty good stories so far.

I've only read a couple myself. I thought they were pretty good. I thought issue 2 had one of the creepiest covers when I first saw it. One thing for sure the covers drawed you in.

They were some of the best stories around in the 1980's and still stand the test of time.I just missed some the other day.Theyy looked really high grade and I was going to upgrade the ones I already had.

You may want to also try Alien Worlds from around the same time.

I love the cover on issue two however due to of a gust of wind and an unbagged comic I now a huge thumb indent right next to the guys face. I was so mad too :mad:

The few issues I got are in nice condition too considering they were part of an old comic stores backstock and were not bagged or boarded. The handful of stories I read were good and I am surprised because Bruce Jones is not one of my favor writers either.

Has anyone read Tales of Terror from the 80's? I love some of these covers and was wondering if these were good.
