Hey SP, know that I've mentioned them before and YES, I know it's not comics, but have you seen the movies twenty nine palms or irreversible? And I am sorry also, if I forget any post about this you might have made before. I'm not really into the horror scene as far as movies, books or comics go, but my head is always there, it's a part of my upbringing. I remember a part from T.H. White's books about King Arthur, where Guinevier asks Lancelot how he can be so good and he answers that he can be so good because he unserstands evil. I am 37 now and was a hardcore punk/metal head for a lnog time, Pusshead, Eddie (Iron Maiden) and all that stuff 9still love the music) was my life. I have since changed, it's intersting, but really, I am good and more into the heroes. But you have to know your enemy right? Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and probably botched that simple goal, Take care and keep posting.

Hey Gal glad to see you roaming the board again!

I actually really liked this book. THe story was decent and art was good. It's in black and white (some folks seemed to be turned off by this. I think it works well with horror comics). I'm looking forward to seeing more and will check ebay to see if there are any already out.

And hey silly! Glad you found your way to the new boards. I'm really enjoying the new layout. As for the movies, no I haven't seen those yet. Any good?

The art is cool. Lots of gore, which I like. Not much story wise. I'm a big fan of the video game, so I might see the comic a little different than those who didn't like the game. All in all, not bad in my opinion. I've seen better but also a lot worse.

Hey SP, I used to have Alien Worlds #1, it has a great cover, I think Corben drew it, I'm not sure. I've always read that book over and over.

Yep! The Alien Worlds are great reads, marvelguy! I have the #1 issue and pull it out to look through every onece in awhile. I really dig Corben's work. Ranks up there with the greats, in my opinion.

Didn't the Alien Worlds series switched company in the middle of its run or it ran two series? It has Pacific early on and then you see Eclipse Comics. You dig what I'm saying?

Yep yer right. Issues 1-7 ran under the Pacific banner and issues 8 and 9 ran under the Eclipse banner.

That is one of my favorite covers of all time. It really captivates you as the cover is alien and distant. The woman is so HOT! and that little green alien looks mean around that Femme Fatale. :P

I got pretty lucky with those. The #1 issue I had to pay $3 for! All relative, I guess.... check this one out stu! I got this in a lot I picked up from ebay. I know it's just a reprint, but it worked out to cost me about 27 cents! :shock: :lol:

Hey MG. I read and liked Bad Moon Rising. Gorey, bloody, my kind of book. I haven't had a chance to read Beowulf yet. I flipped through it and it looks interesting though.

Here's the first issue of the new Blade series I was talking about in another thread. I really like the cover and was the reason I picked it up. Spiderman as a vampire! What horror fan wouldn't want to see that?? He was in the book and he was a vampire, for all of about 3 pages. What a huge let down. Marvel could have done something really cool with this, instead they fucked it up with a crappy storyand, what seemed to me, as a cameo by a Marvel icon, just to sell the book. Well it worked, but I won't be buying anymore issues.

Here's a cool book! Night of the Living Dead Back From the Grave Signed Edition. This comic came with a signed poster from the zombie king himself! No, I'm not talking about that hack Kirkman, I'm talking about THE zombie king! The one and only George Romero! The poster was a little too big to fit in the scanner, but if I get some time, I'll take a digital pic and post it.

Unfortunately, none of those pics will work either as they are all hosted at my site too. Anyhow, at the time I was collecting cover scans for the first set of galleries at my site. Over the years it has gone into overdrive, and we have one of the best vintage variant cover galleries on the net. Just as soon as I have the site back up, I'll be sure to show the rest of you what I'm talking about. I'm on the phone with yahoo right now raising hell... :x

It is one of the most comprehensive displays of vintage and modern variants, promo and French language comics. One of the best things is that anyone with time, a scanner and comics can contribute. Hmm....I wouldn't worry about it. There's a new horror channel that premiered on cable called Chiller. It's a 24/7 cable channel that is only devoted to horror. It's great!!! Horror tv shows and movies only. Maybe that's where he's been.
