State of the comic union here in Korea.

Clearly DC is king here... I haven't seen a single marvel character (except in a stack of comics in a old book shop in Seoul), but DC has a presence here. Superman seems to be the guy. I've seen superman shirts, jewelry and jackets. Even seen supes written on a wall.

Since American comics usually come from GIs stationed here I am quite surprised.

I remember visiting a few comic shops in Korea when I was stationed there two decades ago. In my off time if I wasn't hitting the bars I was either at the comic shop trying to improve my Korean reading skills or at the video arcade getting rid of my 100 won coins.

Are the comics in english or Korean (sp)?

Well I saw them in English but I was in an English bookstore.
