Just saw Stardust

And I really enjoyed it.

Michelle Pfieffer was great, and I liked the kid who played the lead, Charlie Cox. Clair Danes was good too.

The special effects were great, and I especially liked the capital city of Stormhold. And even though there were four separate groups headed to one spot at a couple of points, the story was never confusing.

I'm not one of those who can't stand or understand it when a movie makes changes to the comic source, but I hadn't read the graphic novel, I came in with no preconceived perceptions. I just let the movie's creators tell their story and rolled with it. Well worth the $10.

so is it actually based on the Gaiman/Vess comic mini-series?
If it is, I guess that's why I've finally started selling a few of them.

As a matter of fact, the theater is located across the street from my LCS. Naturally, the bound volume that had been there for months, and that I had been thinking about buying, was gone.

Was it a series of regular comics, or was it initially a graphic novel?
