Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the ONE YEAR LATER storyline, "Up Up and Away", running currently in the Superman titles looks a lot like the plot of the SUPERMAN RETURNS movie?

I didn't really notice it until Yahoo movies put up the "exclusive" third trailer which depicts Lex Luthor using a Kryptonian artifact to recreate elements of the Planet Krypton on Earth, much like he does in ACTION COMICS #839. Plus there's the whole "Superman has been away for so long" aspect of "Up Up and Away". If you look carefully at Supes costume in that issue, it looks a lot like the movie version with the raised "S"-shield and everything.

Makes me wonder if DC isn't adjusting the comics a little to accommodate the movie makers just a little.

Well, at least they didn't dress Supes in black leather and give him organic web-shooters.

Judging by all the responses JDB......it must have been just you #jester# .

Seriously though.....I can't speak for others but I have not gone to see the movie and I don't read any Superman comics so I am not the best person to comment on things Superman related.

However, I would not be surprised if DC was in fact changing things somewhat to accomodate Hollywood. Makes sense to me! Movies are much bigger money makers than comics.

Sorry, jay! I haven't been reading the comics yet so I don't know if the comic folks are change for the movie folks yet!!

I have taken part on the thread you started over on the ebay board. Poor capt just can't get nobody to agree with him.

I have enjoyed the movie both times I have went and seen it. Just saw it on IMAX yesterday and that 3-D was something else!

I think that Brandon Routh did a pretty good job playing Clark/Superman but I still think he looks too young for the time frame. He doesn't look like he is 26 years old. Of course it could be becasue I'm not as young as I use to be but he looks like a kid to me. Now of course, my Mom thinks he's cute!

Now Kate Bosworth also does a pretty good job with the part of Lois and she looks better with dark hair than she does with blonde. And thank god that they didn't make her a blonde Lois!

I think James Marsden does a better job as Richard White than he did as Scott in the X-Men movies.

And I can't say enough about Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. I like Gene Hackman but Kevin is Lex Luthor! He really shows that Lex is EVIL & mean!

I'm not sure if I like the idea of a son but hey, Superman has been around for a long time he is bound to have kids, right?
