Ahhh California weather.
If I did that, I'd probably get killed by a tornado while waiting in line.
Seriously, do you think it's gonna be that big of a deal?
Don't get me wrong, I plan to see it, but I haven't seen any rabid excitement yet that tells me it's gonna be a sellout.

well not sure how they are in you town but we have NOTHING to do here so summer movies/blockbusters are a big thing. SW:ROTS I got in line for the 12:01 showing at 3:00pm and when they numbered our tickets we were 200-207. X-Men 3 we gotin line at 9:00pm and were in the low 100`s. they get pretty wild here give out t-shirts and posters and stuff. its an annual thing with the Garcia family for the BB season. Ive never been 1st inline before and want to show my support for my Favorite Super Hero so we decided to do this. kinda dumb/nerdy but I understand its not everyones cup of tea but its good FAMILY fun for us and kids enjoy it very much. Ill take my camera and take some pictures ofthe madness for all to see. the theater just went digital too so thats gonna be fun to watch that on the new digital quality.wish us luck.lol

Hi redsun,
Y'all have fun and I wish I could be there with y'all!! I don't think the theater here in Griffin is going to have a 12:01am show, BLESS THEIR HEARTS!!! But I will also be going to the first showing on Wed. June 28th and I'm going to try and get the first ticket!!
BTW I would love to see pics of everything. I use to go to all the early showings of the movies I love.

I have a 5 year old. I am unlikely to see any movie without the words "Potter" or "Hefalump" being in the title!

I can't wait. However, I don't think I'll go on opening night because I hate crowded theaters. I'll probably wait a day or two later and catch a matinee.
Does anyone think it'll be worthwhile to watch it on IMAX?
:)

Singer Talks 3-D Superman
Bryan Singer, who directed the upcoming Superman Returns, told SCI FI Wire that the IMAX version of the film will be something to behold and will quite possibly offer some additional bells and whistles to moviegoers. "Fortunately, we shot [the film] with a Genesis camera, which is a digital system," Singer said in an interview. "So we have a much higher resolution. So it projects really well to IMAX. That's one benefit for IMAX."
Superman Returns brings back the Man of Steel in a movie that continues the story of the first two Superman films. Brandon Routh stars as Superman/Clark Kent, Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane and Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. The potential summer blockbuster also becomes the first live-action movie to get the IMAX 3-D treatment, with 20 minutes of the film's action transformed into 3-D.
"We're doing something else which is a little P.T. Barnum and a little funky," Singer said. "To the best of my knowledge it's still happening. I've been knee-deep in printing and mixing, but certain sequences will be in 3-D. The idea is that Clark takes off his glasses, and you put yours on. Not in every sequence, but in a few sequences. They have this amazing system at IMAX. I was extremely blown away when they took some of my 2-D material and '3-D-ified' it using their process. And it was astonishing. I don't know how they did it. It's complex, a lot of man-hours involved and obviously a lot of computers, but with that combined with offering them up some of our visual-effects-separated material they'll be able to create a different experience for some of the sequences." Superman Returns opens in both traditional and IMAX theaters on June 28. —Ian Spelling

Surely a "Worth the Money" or "Not worth the money" comment wouldn't give away TOO much would it.
Even the occasional "I enjoyed it, all 12 times I saw it opening week" might give us some small inkling of the movie's worth!

I have yet to see it or form an opinion.

Can't wait to see this sometime next week at the IMAX! With the price of gas, and the fact that I have to drive quite a way to the IMAX, I'm planning on making a day of it by also seeing X3 (if it's still at the theater), and hitting some computer and comic book shops (there aren't any even remotely near where I live). I'm glad everyone so far has loved this movie, this whole trip depended on your reviews.

Hi clueless,
Do go because Superman & X3 are worth it. Plus you never know what you might find at the LCS or bookstores!! #popcorn#

I saw "The Science of Superman" on TV last night and recorded it. There were sences (sp) of "Superman Returns" in it so I don't think it has been on before. It was pretty good.
Did anyone else catch it last night?

The IMAX version was good. For approximately 15-20 minutes of the movie we put on 3-D glasses for the three-dimensional effects. The screen was so friggin' huge I found myself looking left and right on occasion just to follow all the action.
I didn't see "The Science of Superman" being that it was on at the same time I was at the movies. I should've taped it!

Hi mordo,
I recorded it on my TVo so if you would like I will record it to a DVD and send it to you. Just PM me with your address and I'll get it done when I get home next week.

The science of superman show was pretty cool! I also enjoyed another show that was on recently about the history of Superman though the years. It was two hours long and covered all the comics, tv shows and movies. It was very informative...if I could only remember what it was called!

The show you were talking about is Up, Up and Away. I believe that is the title. It is different from the science of Superman. I think it came on bravo or A&E.

Went to see Superman Returns yesterday.
I went with an open mind. I don't follow the comic books at all so I don't have any problems with continunity etc.
I went just wanting to see a cool "SUPERMAN" movie.
Two words sums the whole thing up for me...
"DISSAPOINTED" "BORING"
This is one boring movie. The "LACK" of ACTION was amazing. Nothing in a 3 hour move.
Superman LOOKED great. He didn't do anything, but he looked good doing it.
Kevin Spacey was great as Luthor. He didn't do anything either.
I actually liked the movie "Unbreakable" much more than this.
I really wanted to like this movie. But I can't. It does nothing and says nothing. Even my wife agreed, when we were discussing the plot. It was about as exciting as a dull soap opera. Not a SUPERHERO movie.
I consider the money I spent on my ticket as an overall "DONATION" to my hobby and comic book movies in general. You know if we don't support them, they wont make them. So I don't mind taking a hit for the team.
What a let down.
Gary
