Comic book and related media discussion (stuffy enough?)

Any comments on the return of Darkseid on the JLU episode last night? Jack Kirby woulda been proud. I get the opinion that Cartoon Network is going to leave a majority of the JLU members in the walk-by background and never focus on them. The Elongated Man pulls a move to defeat Mordru and all we get is a verbal gosh wowwing? Can you say underutilization? I knew you could! :roll:

I'm not a big fan of Darkseid but I'm wondering if there is more to Darkseid than meets the eye now! With being brought from the dead and everything!

I caught the 2nd half of that episode by accident. I liked what I saw but would liked to have seen it from the beginning.

Uh, I thought Saturday Night WAS the first half of the episode. Darkseid has long been one of my favorites since I'm such a Kirby fanboy. I still don't see how something mystically tracking Brainiac wound up leading the Secret Society of Doom Legionaires to the scattered atoms of Kirby's bestest villain ever.

Fulltimer have you read the Kirby 4th World stuff from the 60's and 70's. That's where I fell in love with him as a villain. His search for the Anti-life equation and his time-shifting eye-beams and the iron rule he kept over his conquered worlds made him a force worthy of the full attention of DC's major players.

Jim Starlin stole away Jack's thunder when he introduced Thanos and Death in the Captain Marvel storyscape and then Jim out-wrote Jack left and right. Jimmy Olsen and the Newsboy Legion and Kirby creations at least made the 4th world plotlines interesting but Warlock and the Magus stories blew them away.
