Hey folks! I'm getting ready to list some action figures and could use some advise on shipping charges. I'd like to charge a flat rate domestic and international rate. Any suggestions?

I usually just charge about $6 - $6.50 priority mail because the weight, packing materials and box it must be sent in. Most sellers are charging $8 or so. If someone lives close or in the same state and shipping is overpaid, I refund the extra to them through PAYPAL. But in some cases I will pay more to locations far from me because of the USPS zones. But average $6-$7 is a good price priority shipping wise.

Can't help you with the overseas stuff, I don't ship over there anymore.

Yeah, just determine an average weight (including box and packing materials) and then check out the rate chart at usps.com. That's what I'd do anyway.

The new Priority boxes are "All you can stuff in 'em" for $8.10 a pop.

The Priority envelopes are still $4.05 for whatever you can stuff into them and I distend them all the time to include all sorts of strange shapes nowhere near the 8 & 1/2 by 11 flat shape they were intended for. Perhaps action figures with some protective cardboard could be designed to use this shipping method.

Thanks guys! Much appreciated! I decided on flat rates of $5 for domestic and $7.50 for international. These will be for ground shipping. In the case of domestic shipments, I'll play it by ear and send out priority mail when I can. Thanks again!

Those $8.10 boxes come in two sizes, I'm sure you already know this but... and the square one is almost exactly comic size but leaves no room for padding. The other longer one is what everyone sends me comics in, I have a stack of them sitting next to me right now that I'm saving to cut up and use as stiffeners. I don't know how many comics you can get in the second box, but it isn't a lot. I used to get comics in the priority envelopes with stiffeners and sometimes thin bubblewrap, but it seems like that is happening less and less. You could also, theoretically package the comics really well and then put them in a priority bag. I wonder what that would cost?
