**Spoilers will be included in this discussion! If you don't want the issue spoiled by me, stop reading now and instead wait until you read it yourself!**
So One More Day part three finally reveals what the title ONE MORE DAY means. Basically, The Lady in Red, who is really the devil; Mephisto in drag, shows Peter three other paths his life might have taken had he not become Spider-Man.
In one possibility, Pete becomes a successful, but lonely Wall-street tycoon, (see Stalin below) in another he becomes a lonely overweight geek who designs video games (Kim Jon Il below) or in another, he becomes a little girl?...um, I don't know! But since he did become Spider-Man, none of that other stuff came to pass, so basically, the devil, Mepihosto just wasted one half of the issue!

But then comes the stunning revelation as the devil, Mesitphio offers Peter a chance to save Aunt May's life if he will agree to have his marriage to MJ deleted from history, hence giving the devil, Quesada, his fondest wish!
Initially Peter turns down the devil, Menudo's offer, until he finds out that the devil, Mustafar also made the same offer to Mary Jane and that she's considering it.
The devil, Mamajama tells Pete and MJ that they have only ONE MORE DAY to decide whether Aunt May lives or dies and that they will have no memory of this event, other than a small piece of their souls which will remember it and feel agony over it. Come to think of it, that's pretty much the way the storyline makes me feel. :?
So what does everyone think about this issue and the storyline in general?
And what did I think of this issue? Well it's well known that the devil, Quesada hates the idea of Pete and MJ being married. While I don't necessarily like it anymore than he does, I do hate the idea of further complicating the Spider-Man mythos with a retro-divorce which will snuff all of the continuity of the last two decades out of existence, except for the parts it doesn't snuff out of course!
No I can't really get behind this idea as it's been presented and not just because I know from whence it came, but because it's one of those convenient plot devices that lazy writer's use when they can't find another way out. Retroactively wiping out Pete & MJ's marriage might result in better stories in the future, but that sense of loss will always be there, a nagging little footnote that reminds the reader that something is missing.
Overall, the interior art wasn't nearly as hideous as the cover, however I could have done without all the "extra features" which was basically no more than filler on Mesiphto, like you really need background info on the devil! It was just a really cheap way to pad out the issue and jack the price up!
Of course, the story isn't finished yet and the possibility is that the devil, Quesada, is actually setting us all up, and that Pete and MJ will turn down the offer and Aunt May will croak. (like that hasn't happened before)
So, whatever happens, I guess the devil really is in the details  and we'll just have to wait and see what the BRAND NEW DAY brings for us all.
