I think the Oilers are going to win with the momentum they have.

However, since my nephew works for the Hurricanes I am sorta pulling for them.

I'm kinda pulling for the Canes now because they pretty much a hour's drive from where I live.

Who'da thunk that the Finals would include the Oilers vs Canes with both teams using their back-up goaltenders (Oilers' goalie Markannen is actually the 2nd back-up to the 1st back-up Conklin)?

Even though the Canes were blatantly outplayed and lost 4-0 last night, I believe Cam Ward should have received third star for his play in the game....he stopped the game from becoming a 12-0 score, especially that one glove stop he plucked out of the air that probably (?) did go over the goal line.

Watching the game on CBC, rarely did I hear Recchi's or Brind'Amour's name being called during the play. They were both invisible for the entire game.

Perhaps Erik Cole's return to the line-up messed up the flow of the Canes' game?

The only hockey game I ever wanted to attend is now no longer possible. I wanted to dress up in 50's DA garb and sit in the stands during a game between San Jose (the brand new team) and Winnepeg.

Just to see if anybody would get the joke!

As a fan of the game I would love to see the Oilers take it down! However, I think the 'Canes will pull it off in a close game, 2-1 or 3-2. Ward will be the playoff MVP.

My hat is off to Pisani, though - what balls! He sure picked up his game for the playoffs and he (along with Roloson) is the reason the Oilers made it this far.

It sure was.
It's too bad it took Edmonton's brief penalty trouble though, to lose the game for them, thanks to the Canes 2nd goal by Kaberle on the Power Play.

So that's twice in a row now that my HABS get eliminated from the playoffs by the Stanley Cup winner (notice how I bring this around to make it all about the HABS!).
