Welcome to The Corral BlowUp!
Oh man, I had the SWEETEST possible, most mind-bogglingly high grade imaginable Batman double-cover in my collection a couple of years ago. I forget the issue number off the top of my head, but it was the first Jason Todd Robin issue. Double-cover, with even the outside cover presenting as a drop-dead 9.8 to 10.0. A simply un-improvable double-cover book.
It sold for about $50 if I remember correctly.
That is one that I am still kicking myself for not sending to CGC (but CGC is antethetical to just about everything I believe in regarding collecting...go figger).
But I still kick myself to this day for parting with it.
Have any Double-Cover Charltons? :p
Once again, welcome, and I look forward to your posts.
Best regards,
CG

Yes, several people have died because of Charlton Guy's auctions! :p
Do double covers still even happen to new comics? Seems like with the heavier cover stock, the chances of a double cover are kind of slim these days.

Sure. I still see double covers in pre-2007 books. Although not as often. Same old production methods.

That's the beauty of the Double-cover. They are exceptionally scarce, regardless of the age of the book. As for me, I haven't seen a Modern Double-cover since the 90's.

That book is from 1994.
I had two BATMAN double cover books (#244 and #275) which I sold about a year ago.
The offer was awesome so I jumped at it.

I think I still have a double cover of Green Arrow #3 (?) from the early 80's limited series around here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

I've got 2 or 3, but I stupidly did not note it in my database when I recorded them. Should I open 6,600 bags looking for them? Probably not.

Man I just sold a Superman 414 2 weeks ago on ebay for $28.00. It was NM- 9.2 condition. Inside cover was like 9.4ish. I just found it out of the blue at a shop with a large inventory they sold it to me now knowing for $2.50. Had it been any other title I would have kept it. I am just not a Supes fan.

The best ones I have ever seen are the following.
Triple Cover Strange Tales 181 I think. It was a Masked Dr. Strange cover.
Guy on Ebay's boards has a triple cover Western from the 50s.
Buddy sold a Aquaman Triple Cover Modern or was it Legion for $200+?
I have seen 3 modern double covers from 2005 and up it does happen.
Printing errors seem to be more common nowadays then double covers.
I know all types of oddball printing errors.

Wow. WOW. Just wow.
I think you had a responsibility to disclose to the shopkeep what you were buying!
Those Michael Myers books? Sure, they have price stickers on them, but you really ought to tell them how much you're getting for them on eBay.
It's only ethical.

Just picked this one up last weekend, discovered the double cover yesterday. I have about 6 or 8 that I remember in my collection but they're all funny comics. It is cool though cause it's from 1956.

Just found this thread from Google. I've had a copy of Uncanny X-Men #283 (Bishop's Second appearance) with a double cover in my collection for over 16 years. I always thought it was cool, I remember buying it from Mile High Comics, but I never thought to look up how rare and how valuable it might be! Are you still interested, BlowUpTheMoon? Can anyone give me suggestions on what I should do with my copy? How much it might go for? Should I get it CGC graded? I'm very unfamiliar with the CGC grading process.
