I think it was swiped, on the other hand at the time there wasn't much comics out there at all to garnered it being "stolen", maybe it was common to do it. Bob was only 17 when he created Bats.

The Statute of Limitations has long since run out unless he "killed" the concept. Look up the word "muggle" on google and see where Ms. Rowlins got the idea for that segment the Potterverse. She did it right and the person what dreamt it up put out a book that I can't finish a single chapter in! No matter how hard I try.
