I got a little excited when I saw the auction title here. I spent some time running down the two accepted first Peanuts, Tip Topper #17 and United #22. Has seller actually turned up an earlier issue? No, turns out this one is 1953, the others are from 1952. His wording is very tricky, the "accepted" Peanuts #1 he is talking about are Dell Peanuts #1 and FC 878.

In the title he refers to the "1st Peanuts" but then clarifies it in the details as the 1st Peanuts in Fritzi Ritz. I may be a little biased because this is the only seller I ever dealt with whose book simply did not arrive and he did nothing to make it right.

I think anyone familiar with Peanuts & looking for them in comics should take the ad at face value and not assume it was their first appearance in comics altogether. Sellers always overhype what they have.

I'm reminded of a Poison Elves auction where a seller said artist Drew Hayes had passed away. The seller claimed he was the artist's brother-in-law selling some rare comics. Drew Hayes was still alive at the time of the auction albeit in very poor health.

Not supplying what a person with what they bought is a far bigger complaint.

I agree Quato. I posted that in early January and have calmed down considerably since then.
