Starting this June after the conclusion of Annihilation: Conquest, a new Guardians of the Galaxy series will begin.

Co-written by Dan Abnet and Andy Lanning with art by Paul Pelletier, this new series will feature an as yet undisclosed team. With it being unclear who will survive Annihilation: Conquest, there is no telling which characters will be on this book. One thing is sure...there seem to be no plans to bring any of the original GotG on board.

This might be good. The various Annihilation series have been good for the most part. The only thing that might hurt it is that people might be expecting the Guardians they are familiar with, rather than the characters from Annihilation.

So the book might suffer from the "new Firestorm effect". That is; expecting one thing, but getting another.

Paul Pelletier on GOTG is going to rock! He is currently doing FF before Millar and Hitch takes over. He does a fantastic job on the book as well as a great artist to do space stories. I will pick this book up.

Sorry can't see it lasting very long unless they radically change how the previous incarnation were done. I can't see this lasting much more than one to two years at the most.

All these reboot of old teams/characters is getting a bit annoying ... mind you I am getting X-Force (not that I ever collected it before (other than a few issues here and there late in the run). Marvel and DC seem to be running a bit thin in the creative concepts these days ... worthwhile creativity that is ;)

Well, if I understand correctly, the new GOTG will not be the previous incarnation, but rather the heroes from the various Annihilation mini-series, which have been pretty decent.
