I was wondering if anyone out there can help me correctly identify the gold version of the Maximum Clonage Alpha.

I seem to have two issues of it but have never been able to ID it since I keep seeing conflicting things about it everywhere.

Thanks!

I can't seem to find a pic of the Gold version of that book. The regular one looks like this and should have a shiny acetate cover:

The X:Men Alpha and Omega issues were released around the same time I think, and were the same way. I had copies of the Omega issues, and the pics of those should help you out. Here is the regular version of that:

The gold version had a luminescent look to it that gave off a hint of rainbow colors when the light hit it the right way. It also had gold lettering instead of silver in the logo. It should be easily distinguished from the regular edition.

I sold both of those slabs on ebay in 2005. The non-gold #1 CGC 10.0 went for $128.50. The gold #1 CGC 9.8 went for $150. It was highest census at the time (and still is along with 47 other copies :D). I also sold two non-gold 9.8's that only went for around $20. They were hardly worth the slabbing fees. :(

Thanks for the help and sorry for the delay. Apparently my follow-up notification isn't set right.

I am confused because of places like:

http://www.samruby.com/OneShots/maximumclonagealpha.htm
and
http://www.comicbookdb.com/title_covergallery.php?ID=5576

Both of them show the regular cover looking more blueish which mine definitely is not. The scan you offer though is what mine looks like..and what they ID as the gold. I love it!

Thank you!!
