Overstreet says $700 in Good, so this book will probably beat that. Also says "Rare" and "many copies have brown pages". I'm leavin' that one alone.

This is one of those books that you're going to have to pay for. Meaning, Fisrt pick the grade you can live with. Then be prepared to pay at least guide for it.

The grade is pretty accurate at GOOD, but nowhere near VERY GOOD, so don't hope to get lucky on the grade to make up for the price.

This is a book you have to actually pay for...

Reform School Girl # 1 is the same type of book.

Here's my questions and his reply.
Has this comic had any restoration done to it? Are there any missing pieces? Are the staples rusty? Is it brittle? What's the OWL rating.

I know that's a lot of questions but it's a lot of money for me to even think about spending. Please give me the best description of the book possible.

Hello -

Thanks for the inquiry on the ALL-NEGRO comic. Yes, you're right - that's a lot of money, and I certainly would want you to be happy with your purchase. This book is definitely low-grade, from a collection of lower-grade books, and has numerous small defects. As far as I can tell, it has not been restored. The top staple is slightly dirty/rusty, while the bottom staple is more moderately solied/rusty. Pages are not really affected, and the insides are quite nice, well above average for 1940s books, with supple light tan paper (not brittle) and good colors. Sorry, but I don't have an OWL card. According to the Guide this comic is very scarce, and usually turns up with poor paper quality, which is why this book was bid up so quickly, I imagine.

Hope this helps, and please keep in mind all the defects I've mentioned, plus the scans...

Best regards -
Ron F.

This book is not rare it is scarce, with only 7 ever cgc'd and only three above 2.5. The reason I like it is the story behind the making of the comic. I have to go now, but I will try to list some links to that story later.

LOL,

I know that feeling all to well.

Yep, that's right next to where I'm keeping my Fine or better Reform School Girl # 1

So, I sneakily put in a bid of $920, because I really want one adn that's way over the $700 guide price so I thought I'd win.....Get ready for this, it went for........$2,400. Now that's a hot comic. If you get a chance look up the story on the making of the book, it's fascinating.

I just checked out the story.

Who knew that certain comics had such a rich and interesting history behind them.

That's something else.

Is this the link of the story in question?

Yeah, that's the one I followed.

You're not going to tell me that it's wrong, are you? #shifty#

No, no. It is a great history about these "unsung" heroes. There was a lot of sites pertaining the book. I was just wondering if that's what Silly was referring to since he said he will post a link, so I assumed that's what he was saying.

Oh, OK.

I just thought that was a really cool story and I'd hate to have it be all a hoax or something.

Didn't mean to get suspicious. #rockon#

I'm not sure, maybe it is all hype. I've only been following this comic for about a year and haven't done enough research on it to really say I know the real story yet.
