Hey Corralers!

Here's what I have in the way of comic supplies. These are all BCW Brand comic supplies so you know you will be getting quality. The prices indicated are not including shipping. Please contact me for an EXACT shipping quote! Unlike a lot of those eBay sellers, I won't jack up the shipping charges. Keep in mind some of the products are HEAVY (boards) or OVERSIZED (boxes).

If you don't need as many as are indicated, they are available in smaller quantities too, but my supplier charges pretty high shipping for the smaller lots. :(
I can ship these to Canada as well, but I'll need a couple of days to get a quote from my supplier.

I accept PAYPAL (this allows for fastest shipment). If you are a long time Corraler or we have dealt with each other in the past, you can also pay me with a check or Money Order.

Send me a PM for a quote.

Thanks for all the inquiries everyone! I have replied to all the PMs sent!

There are lots of questions about the comic houses, so here is a video that shows the comic houses in action:

YouTube - BCW - Short Comic house

I am using the short comic houses and I can't be happier with them.

I got my short comic houses from Hoss last year and I can't be any happier with them. Right now I have them stack 5 high and 10 across, I will be adding another more to the top to make them 6 high and two extra stack for a total of 12. I can take them out and move them around without breaking my back, which is great for me. #oldie#

Did I happen to say I LOVE them!! I have been getting rid of all my long boxes and going to short boxes.

Thank you, Hoss!!

Linda

they are like drawers for your boxes. they allow you to access the bottom box without moving the top 4 =D

Hoss, any chance of you offering a combo set with the short houses? meaning a house and box? i need like 20, but don't care about the lids...

What are comic box houses?

The comic houses is a system designed to allow you to better store your comics. They are similar to the Comic Drawer Boxes you may have heard about.

Here is the manufacturers description:

Comic Book Short House is a reinforced outer shell in which a heavy-duty short box (sold separately) will slide. This combination allows you to stack boxes up to six boxes high, while still being able to instantly access any one of the boxes' contents without rearranging stacks of heavy comic boxes.

The Short House consists of two parts: the drawer (any regular short box) and the shell, one outer sleeve and reinforcement inner sleeve which makes the shell even more sturdy. The pieces are formed from white 200 lb-test cardboard.

- Slides open like a file drawer
- Double thickness
- Brilliant white
- High quality
- Stackable
- Cardboard Corrugated Materials

There is a demonstration video a few posts up as well.

You can order the two items seperately and still save big over retail prices. The short boxes will come with the lids...I cut my extra lids up and used them to sandwich comic shipments in. #oldie# I don't know what else the could be used for...

Shoot me a PM with your zip code and I can give you a quote for exact shipping to your address!

One day Hoss, one day. I go back and forth between selling them all and re-bagging. I gotta tell ya though, those "Comic Book Showcase" are kinda useless without the micro-fiber, they insure that your grading stays constant, but don't prevent from foxing. If I'm gonna put a book in a slab like that I must feel pretty confident about the grade, and if I do, I know that the cover can still get weird and want that protection that the micro-fiber supposedly gives. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but you really need to add the micro-fiber to your store, or find your own answer to this. I find more and more books of mine that look great and might be CGC worthy until I open the covers.

Hi Hoss,

I'm almost to the point of needing more bags and boards (Silver)!! hint, hint!!

This is what I think I want Hoss, but what are the resealable bags? What is "thick"? Is thick better? And what size combos do y'all recommend for SA books?

1000 Silver Backing Boards (7 x 10 1/2)

1000 Silver Comic Bags (7 1/8 x 10 1/2)

If you still have those ones from your personal stash I'll take these.
100 BCW Magazine Bags 8 3/4 x 11 with a 1 1/2 flap. (9 avail) $5.50

300 Silver/Golden Age Mylites 1 mil. 7 3/4 x 10 1/2 plus 1 1/2 flap (3 avail)
If you have those mylites still I'll probably need to get the bigger boards.

By the way, in the OP you have the prices for mylites but it doesn't say quatity.

Wait a minute, are those mylites really 7 3/4"? That's huge!

Also, are the 1 ML the ones that are really thin? Do they feel like crisp foil or are they stiff?

Hoss
04-28-2008, 12:23 AM
They have more a of crinkly feel to them. I use those to store my books in and I have been pretty happy with them.

Hey Hoss, I got the bags and boards and I'm putting them together now. Great deal, better than anywhere else I looked. Now that I see how beautiful my books look in new bags I'll probably buy more soon.

I have two questions.
Although I've always put the shiny side of the boards toward the comic I never thought about it. The package says "coated on one side" What are they coated with and why?
What does it mean exactly when your OLD boards have that brown shadow? Are they sucking up gas from the books, is that what they are supposed to do and is it good for the books? What would happen to whatever is causing that browning of the boards if they weren't in the bag with the comic?

It's been a while since I thought much about my bags and boards. I remember when I was younger there was a a big shift from one type of plastic to another, Poly-propolene or something, and I changed all of my bags. Since then I haven't thought much about it.
