Have you ever wanted to be a super hero? That's exactly what Dave Lizewski wants to be in this first issue from Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.
As the title implied, I prepared myself for lots of ass kicking and I wasn't let down. From the opening panels, the action hooked me and the story was entertaining right thru the final page. Mark Millar has really set this book up to be a great original series.
The only thing that bothered me was the art by Romita. It really didn't seem to fit the story. It reminded me of the art on the recent "Eternals" series and I wasn't too crazy about that either. His characters just looked somewhat off and it distracted me from the story. Don't get me wrong. It was nice looking work, especially the action sequences, but I just don't think the art matches the tone of the story. It would have been better with a more realistic style, IMHO.
Either way, I loved the issue overall and I am excited to check out the next issue. #woohoo#
