Hey, made through my other surgery. Guess what after I tell Rudy I never want surgery ever, again, my work comp oks my carpal tunnel sugery. So if I ant to make it through the pain, I really need to cut back on pain killers(vicodin) which causes severe withdrawel. The pain meds didnt help much in hospital due to tolerance of pain meds. But need this surgery.....

Has anyone had this surgery before???

Any advice???

Hi mrsredsun,

I haven't had the surgery, but I wish that it goes well for you! Hang in there!

Hi mrsredsun,

Wish you well with your surgeries! I have "carpal tunnel" in both of my hands but Thank God I didn't have to have the surgeries. I went to a Doctor who did Acupuncture on them and after treatments (believe it or not my insurance paid for it) I haven't had any trouble with them. I even quit wearing the splint at night. I got it from being a Assembly-line worker making car radios which I did from 1994 to 2001.

Oh course I found out that acupuncture doesn't work for everyone but thank goodness it worked for me.

What kind of work was you doing to get the carpal tunnel?

Good Luck and take care!

Linda

P.S. We Need A SPELL CHECKER, Hoss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best wishes on your ills. Surgery is pretty safe these days and is largely in the "Pain To Go Through" catagory. You should do just fine. My prayers will be with you.

I have been diagnosed with Car Pool Tunnel of the right hand and the doctor treating me said to get my neck massaged for it. I cracked my neck in her parking lot and the symptoms went away.

The only useful advise I can give you is to avoid MY doctor. :(

I second the call for giving acupuncture a try. I haven't had it done, since I'm relatively pain-free, but I've heard some interesting stories about how it will help when nothing else will. Plus, it's cheap! Try a session before you have the surgery and see if you get any results.

Good luck Mrsredsun. Let's hope you never have to get used to surgeries.

I volunteer. Where would you like me to start? (Linda, they're on their way.)

Thanks everybody for your support. You all have always been really nice. Im sure it will all be just fine. The workmans comp isnt approving anything but surgery. They requested sugery about a year and a half ago maybe more......then two months ago they put in for pain management which would have been like steroid injections, or epidural injections for my neck and hands, they obviously dont want to go there. So Im not sure what options I really have........plus by what I understand it is a fairly simple sugery with a good success rate.

Good Wishes on the upcoming doctor stuff. Please get someone knowledgable to be an advocate onsite if you go into the Hospital and have them look out for your interests. Sadly, I feel that advocates are needed these days.
