What the #censored# does QP stand for?? I've seen it all over the CGC boards. Quit Pontificating? Quite Polite? Qualle Poker???? Someone help me here! #explode# #creep#

That's one of nit-picky things. I forget exactly. PQ is Page Quality, and I think QP is Quality of Production. I think QP is when say, CGC gives a book a 9.8 but the cover has a huge miswrap. For some reason CGC doesn't downgrade for production defects that make the book look like crap. So on that 9.8 example the QP would be terrible, but the PQ could be excellent.

EDIT: check this thread. They say it's Quality of Presentation, so I was close. You can't have good Presentation with good Production :smile:

Also there's:

FDQ - F'ing Drama Queen - people start a thread saying they're quitting the Board instead of just disappearing - FDQ, especially if you quit and then come back.
BSD - Big Swinging Dick - affectionate name for some of the big dealers.

I think I know most of the abbreviations, so ask away if you're curious.

Hey thanks stu! Would have never guessed that! BSD was another one I always wondered about. I think I need to read more message boards! I just recently figured out what OYL meant! :oops:

OYL mean One Year Later...the storyline that was running through DC books. I forgot where I saw that one....comicbookresources maybe? I know for sure it was on a lot of ebay auction titles for awhile.

I haven't either. First thing I would have thought is what's Popeye's girlfriend, Olive Oyl, got to do with it.

Maybe it would be a good thing if somebody could come up with a list of common acronyms. I know I have to scratch my head and say "huh?" when some acronyms are used.
