As we now have Golden Age and Silver Age threads for war comics, it seems only natural to have a Bronze age thread. This is that thread. Post all your Bronze Age war books here for everyone to sneak a peak. ;) Bronze Age books should be from 1970 to the mid 1980's (or thereabouts).

I have a few war comics and liked Sgt. Rock as a kid. MY favourite issue was Sgt. Rock Annual #2 1982. The story is about Rock and his little brother with a twist at the end.

Very nice..... I really like those G.I. Combat! Hey dont mean to get off topic here, but one of my bronze age war wants has always been Weird War Tales #1. Do any of you have a reason why this book is so highly valued? Its pretty expensive for a VF or higher, is it because higher grade copies are scarce? Just wondering?????

As a kid I always liked the war comics. My grandpa was a Royal Canadian Engineer in WW2 so it got me into War comics, somehow that is how I connected to them.
Do you guys have a fav War comic, one issue?
I am always looking for a great read and you guys know your stuff.

Good question. I was wondering that myself. Hopefully somebody has an answer to this one.

One favorite issue, eh? That's a tough one to answer, but in the Bronze age there were a couple of story lines that I absolutely loved. One was G.I. Combat #161-162, a story that culminates in the death of one of the haunted Tank's crew. The first comic book death of an established character that I remember.
The second was Our Army At War #256 - 260, fantastic Russ heath artwork with Rock stranded in the Pacific. These issues also frequently feature fantastic USS Stevens stories by Sam Glanzman...just great stuff.
Hope this helps some .

Man I love these old G.I. combat covers when someone says something like "wow no more Nazi's" as a bunch of Nazi's sneak up behind them. Oh those oblivious soldiers.
