View Full Version : All New Atom [DC]
This is another DC book I am giving a try. It's pretty interesting with passable art as well.
My problem is that I have zero knowledge of most of the DCU so I am a little lost on what happened to the first Atom and where this new guy fits into the story.
It was a pretty good adventure for his first time out and those talking dogs really piqued my interest! You just can't go wrong with talking dogs.

I wondered how the book went, I passed it by but seemed curious to get t. The first Atom? Ray Palmer? He "vanished" at the end of Identity Crisis, not the current series that has wrapped.

I think the point of having a NEW ATOM is that new readers don't need to know a lot about the old one. Unfortunately, "new" versions of old characters don't tend to have much of a lifespan at DC, and even when they do, the get annoying, like Kyle Rayner.
I liked the issue, but am getting a little tired of DC being so PC by changing the gender, race or orientation of their established heroes.
Just create new characters to fill your race quota guys, because you know as well as I do that the old Atom is not going to stay buried forever, then you're going to have another situation like Firestorm on your hands, and Green Lantern, and Flash, and Wonder Woman, and Green Arrow, and...
