Thought it would be great to start this thread with one of Cal's pets that I purchased several years ago.
I love a fresh copy of Iron Man & Sub Mariner #1 CGC 9.4 White Pages. The white cover just makes the other colors really stand out.

It may not be consolation enough to you, but I suspect that as a result of not just slapping down huge amounts of cash to speed-collect, you'll actually enjoy each acquisition more when they arrive.
I have found that eventually, books that you think you've lost a chance at, usually come around again.
A lot of collectors like to continually "churn" their collections...like impatient stockholders who can't bear to not be buying or selling out of their stock portfolio all the time. There are fewer "buy and hold" collectors out there.
