I have come across this unique magazine published by comic publisher Charlton. Its similar to, and contains advertising for, their "Gung-Ho" magazine. It appears to be extremely rare as I cannot find any references to it anywhere and so far have not been able to find anyone in any forums who is familiar with it. I am trying to find out if it has any value, and obviously if it does, to who.

Here's an image of the cover:

Thanks for any help anyone can give me on this pub. If there are other forums, such as for survivalist mags and so forth where I should be asking this question, I would appreciate a link.

Sincerely

MartyB

I held off for fear of drooling while typing...:D

That is a great piece. I haven't seen this title before.

Is there comic art in it? Or is it just crime yarns and photos?

And we have another Corral Member (Quato) who is also interested in and collects Charlton "Obscurities". He probably knows more than I what the Mag end of Charlton is all about.

He started a cool thread here:

And Quato has started an excellent Charlton web page with great info on their various publications. There's a link on the thread above.

Me? I mainly dig the Charlton Sci-Fi and Horror titles.

But hell, I'll buy damn near anything Charlton...except My Little Margie...#exorcist#

Thanks for the reply and the information.

The "Commando" content is mostly articles and photos, with lots of real entertaining ads as you can imagine.

I just got hold of a replacement flatbed and I will scan the back cover, which is a hoot, and a few pages and table of contents for you, sometime this weekend.

Cheers,

MartyB

I have been searching the net extensively and can't even find any references to this issue, nor any further issues. It may have never made it past the first one.
