This thread will be about older issues in your collection that you are reading.

I'm working my way thru Spider-Man's Tangled Web right now. I've been sitting on the run for ages now and I finally started it. In case you haven't heard of it, this series focuses on the characters around Spidey's life, and not neccessarily Spider-Man (though he is in some of the issues). Each story line is presented by a new creative team and there is a wide variety of talents that signed on board.

It's pretty good for the most part. My favorites so far:

The Thousand --The man who thinks that HE should have been Spider-man tries the old get bitten by a radioactive spider routine and doesn't really get the desired effect. This was a really fun story with quirky art.

Severance Package -- Working for the Kingpin is a tough gig and when you screw up a job you can be sure that there will be repercussions. This is now one of my all time favorite stories...It's really good!

Flowers for Rhino -- This is another cute story featuring one of my favorite villains. The Rhino gets smart and finds love in the arms of a gangsters daughter. *sniff*

So far so good on this series. I'll check out some more issues and let you know how they come out. In the meanwhile what back issues from your collection are you checking out?

I'm catching up on issues 50-100 in Spawn.

About 50 was when I stopped reading Spawnie, so I'm checking out those issues.

As with much of McFarlane's Spawn, it is mostly hit and miss, more hit than miss, but only slightly.

They're revealing more about the about the mythos of Spawn, which is pretty cool, but I feel like they're giving away too much at a time. The story is getting bogged down. Who knows, maybe it all goes somewhere.

I'm still reading, though, and for the most part it's been fun.

The Darkness 1st series by Image.

This run was suprisingly good. Demons, Monsters, Gangsters and Good Girl Art. I ignored this when it came out (just like I ignore almost all Image books).

I picked it up because Warren Ellis wrote some of the books and I needed reading material. I was really impressed with both the story and the art.

I picked up a complete run for about $1.00 a book (average) a while back.

I didn't waste any money on the variant covers because I just wanted something to read and not collect.

You can still pick these things up for about $1.00 a book, which is about 1/3 the cost of a new book which makes it a prety good reading value.

I recommend it.

Sadly, I ended up "COLLECTING" the MAGDALENA.

Yep all those stupid Variant, Foil, Chrome, Signed, Sketched, Re-Marked, Covention Specials and Crossovers. All of them.

Non of which are recommended for reading. Simply "EYE" candy. So be careful out there kids...

Did you get the Garth Ennis issues too? (He and Warren kick major ass). I read it from the beginning, as Ennis and Silvestri started it out - how could you ignore those two? Only ignore Image books if it's psuedo-Manga art :-D You gotta pick up The Midnighter series by Ennis when Wildstorm re-launches their books (Jim Lee/Grant Morrison/Garth Ennis are all involved). It's gonna be sick!
