I'm trying to remember which issue of Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD, it is, but it takes place in winter, maybe Christmas, and I think the first page is an alley scene with snow, full page, but I don't recall if Fury is in it. I'm pretty sure it's a Steranko issue.

Sorry I can't be more specific, it's been 40 years since I saw it. :)

Or maybe I dreamt it. ;)

You'd be in luck if it was a Steranko issue, he didn't do that many (Strange Tales or NF:AOS). Would you recognize the cover?

If I'm not too lazy I'll check my copies in the next day or two :)

If the first page is an alley scene with snow, full page, it's not Nick Fury # 1-5.

I wonder what it would be then? None of the NK, AOS came out during the winter?

No, unfortunately, I wouldn't recognize it by the cover. Although #4 looks awfully familiar.

Well, I looked through the pages of NF:AOS # 1-5 and didn't see it. But it is picking at my brain, because it does sound familiar to me, I can almost see it in my mind. I'm too lazy right now to look through every Strange Tales :)

And FYI, Steranko only did the cover on NF:AOS # 4, no interior art.

There's a Nick Fury story in one of the Treasury sized Christmas With The Superheros specials from 1974-75 or so that might be what you're looking for. It would have been a reprint from somewhere else but the Christmas theme rings a bell. I'll take a look if I have it

For some reason, I'm also thinking that it was the year Marvel started doing the "Toys for Tots" stuff.

I'm wondering if it might have been a cross-over into another book, like Captain America or something.

Might it be this issue? http://www.comics.org/coverview.lasso?id=22600&zoom=4ue?

It has a Christmas motiff on the cover but I don't have a copy of this one so I'm not sure what the interiors are.

Drat. I wish I could remember the cover. I'd have to see the inside. :(

Sorry. Didn't mean to be such a pest.

No worries, I'm sure someone will show up, with info, or a scan of the page shortly.

The treasury story I was thinking of was "Jingle Bombs" with the Hatemonger from Nick Fury AOS #10 I don't have the issue but from memory the art was by Frank Springer Maybe someone can confirm?

Well, if someone has that inside page, that would answer my question. :)

OK Shadow Ferret (never thought I'd ever type that) here's the splash from Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD #10. The story does involve a fight in an alley. Does this help?

When in doubt about an artist, always check the GCD!

No. That isn't quite what I remember. :( It is a nice pic though. I'll have to try to find a copy of that, too. :)
