View Full Version : [GAME] Change One Letter (Round 8) Rules added for newbies!

Hoss
07-25-2006, 04:41 AM
Official Rules:

I'll start off the game by posting one word. The object of the game is to take the word I have posted and change just one letter in the word to create a new word.

Example: dog ----> doe

The next person would have to change one letter in the word "doe" and so on and so forth.

Rules per round:

You may not rearrange the letters.

You can play as often as you like, but at least one new person must post before you can post again.

You may NOT repeat a word that has been already used!

Proper names/places are NOT permitted!

YES, GREEK GODS ARE PROPER NOUNS!

Your word must appear in the Online Dictionary: http://dictionary.reference.com/

You may not edit or delete any posts in this thread for any reason. Make certain your answer is final before submitting.

If a duplicate answer is submitted within 2 minutes of the previous answer leeway will be granted to the 2nd poster and no penalty will be assessed.

A penalty of -0.50 in Corral Cash will be assessed for any rule violation, so be careful before posting your new word!

If you have the "last word" in a 24-hour period, you are the winner of at least $10.00 in Corral Cash. The Jackpot will grow by $10 CC per page up to a maximum of $100 CC!

If any member updates the word list every few pages, they will receive $0.50 bonus Corral Cash!

Get it? Got it? Good!

The Game begins with the word following this post.

Remember, I'm around only at night to moderate the game, so be patient if a dispute arises!

Good Luck!

Sloe is a repeated word, according to Linda's update a couple of pages ago.

FER CRYING OUT LOUD, CG!

If you repeat words in the game, then the terrists have won! I expect this from some of the other players, but you should know better.

I think that CW is making the rules up as he goes. (Note: That is not necessarily a political point that I'm trying to make.)

Matt Lauer here on the set of Today to talk about the tragedy that has befallen the "[GAME] Change One Letter (Round 8) Rules added for newbies!" at the Comics Corral. In the past, this game has been fraught with what the Charlton W calls "terrist activity full of furren words designed to bring down the very core of values and beliefs that we hold dear as Corralers." Katie is on the scene at the game with the story.

http://www.cbsnews.com/images/2006/05/31/imageNYET77805311220.jpg

Wait a minute, I'm not even on the Today show. What the--? Oh, we're on? Okay, hey folks out there in TV land. As you hear from Matt, there has been a controversy brewing here at the Corral. The Charlton W, having vowed to clean up the "furren word" debate, himself was accused several times this round of using "furren words". These words are allegedly provided to the W administration by Shake Yertooty, a known advocate of "furren word" use. After his most recent campaign of "Shock, Awe, and Confuse" and the damning allegations, The Charlton W was not available for comment on the situation. However, I do have local resident of a neighboring town, Red Redneck. Red?

http://www.keiths.org/Redneck-Humor/you-might-be-a-redneck.jpg

I tell you what, Katie. It was pandelerium here at the corral. My toilet is out on the front porch...and this is my inside toilet..and you don't even want to know where the kitchen sink is.

http://www.cbsnews.com/images/2006/05/31/imageNYET77805311220.jpg

This is the guy that we got? Oh sh---I'm on the air, again? Thank you, Red, very enlightening. The good news in the Corral is that Administrator Hoss has arrived on the scene and restored the peace amid the Chaos. Thanks for everything you do, Hoss!

Back to you, Matt.

Looks like a winner, Linda. Congratulations!
