Hello,I was wondering what make the Church books so expensive compared to say Allentown? The reason for the question I was looking at some GA.books from these two pedigree's in the same grade, and the church was almost double the allentown why? Thanks for the help

The Mile Highs usually bring a higher price due to a superior state of preservation. In relation to most other pedigrees, a Mile High will have better ink reflectivity (deeper and truer colors) and much better paper quality (all the way down into the fibers of the paper if you know what I mean). But there are some pedigrees which do rival the Mile Highs on many levels and the Allentowns are one of those. The Allentowns have incredible structural appeal and eye appeal. And in general the Allentowns have near Mile High page quality.
So if a copy of the same book from each of those pedigrees are structurally graded the same and given the same page designation by CGC
more than likely the paper (actual paper fiber) is slightly better on the Mile High. That is one reason the Mile High will generally sell for more. Reputation goes a long way to establishing price.
But as a collector, if you have a chance to look at both through the holder and there is no discernable difference in eye appeal, seriously consider the value of the Allentown. They are seriously beautiful books.
