I would grade it as a VF/VF+. That's a nice Adams cover.

Man, I love that cover. VF or better for sure.
I remember when that particular book hit the stands in the late 1970's.
I still remember the day I bought it then feeling like I was ripped off because it was reprint of an older Superman book I already had (#233).

That entire run of Action Comics back then was awesome.
Faora and the Phantom Zone Criminals trilogy in 471-473.
Dr. Light in 474.
The 4-part Amazo story in 480-483.
Superman II gets married in 484.
This book you have shown 485.
Brainiac and the Krypton explosion in 489-491.

Looks like way to many spine stress marks breaking color and the corners look somewhat blunted.

So I would probably go no better than a Fine 6.0.

Is that what that is?
I thought it was just the scan and not actual stress lines.

Could wiggle into a 6.5-7.0 range imo.

I see three blunted corners and quite a few color breaking spine stresses. I'd have to go for the 5.5 - 6.5 range.

That issue does however have a Whitman variant if you are collecting them...
