Kind of reminds me of when geedubya said

1) "Bring them on." July 3rd 2003
2) "Brownie,You are doing a heck of a job" Sept. 2,2005
3) You work three jobs?... Uniquely American ,isn't it?that is fantastic that you are doing that" to a divorced mother of three complaining about the economy. Feb 2005

And my all-time favorite
Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.

This is about as close to verification that I can find.

Of course, he probably did say it. It sounds like the mewling empty meaningless rhetoric that politicians spew out and expect Americans swallow. The fact that taken out of context it means something completely contrary to the intent is due to the fact that it is empty meaningless tripe to start with.

Agreed.

VOTE N.O.T.A.

It's possible he would've made that statement. I remember one time back early in the primary season, he was campaigning in Iowa. He made a comment to a group of Iowan farmers about some kind of weird artsy-fartsy vegetable that fine restaurant serves, the farmers had no clue what he was talking about. Talk about not being in "touch" with Americans.

In spite of what the media spoon feeds us, I think Obama is in touch with main street America, and is not the elitist politician some of the news outlets want us to believe he is.

The snopes.com link actually attributes the quote to an in-joke directed towards McCain.

I hope you're right as Obama is almost assured of victory in Nov. We've had 20 years of administrations that were completely, or at least mostly, out of touch with everyday life, if Obama can straighten out our current Malaise, then BRING IT ON! (oops! :o )

Yeah, it'll be a big disappointment if Obama, if elected, doesn't help turn the economy and U.S. foreign policy around.

What's going on with Hillary Clinton? The primary season is over and she still hasn't conceded the nomination. What is she up to?

They (Billary) don't know how to concede, never had to yet.

Okay (this must be a dream) I agree with pretty much EVERYTHING Jay said! :)

As much as I like Obama, as much as I want to see someone as smart & decent (& Black) as him in power, I just don't see enough of a difference (except in brain wattage) between him & Bush Jr.

Nader said something like "When you choose between a lesser of two evils, you still choose evil."

And I feel both a stirring (not like Obama Girl, you understand!) AND a disappointment as I consider not how different he'll be from the Clintons & Bushes, but how similar and (as Jay says), how out of touch.

She is lobbying super delegates in the hope of changing their vote. Theoretically, she could still win the nomination if enough super delegates vote for her at the convention. Bill is a super delegate. I wonder how he is going to vote?

A Victrola? Sounds like one of them new fangled thingamajigs. I still listen to a Porter Twin Disc Music Box. I'm old. #oldie#

Sometimes I like to pass the time looking at photographic cards of John McCain and Mr. Lincoln on my Stereoscope.

God, I love these wonderful political debates we have in this country.

"Your guy is stupid."

"No, your guy is stupid."

It's going to be another great election year.

While you guys are off trying to figure out those Victrolas, I'll be over here loading this roll into my player piano. Nothing like a few rounds of Camptown Races to get the family singing in sweet harmony.

"Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting evil."

Perhaps what our country needs is more than one president?
