Perhaps you guys need to get a voting system in place for suspensions and bans or something. I'm not getting it lately. I'm afraid to post. Why is posting "personal information" a ban worthy issue. I MYSELF POSTED THE "WHO ARE THEY" THREAD IN EARLIER INCARNATIONS OF THE CORRAL WHICH CAN STILL BE SEEN.
CG, I shouldn't have to say it again, I have HUGE respect for you, but don't you think your past history with someone (KWM) that I am just beginning to have fun with should not be a factor in his banishment.
Maybe It wasn't.
I just don't get it lately.
Don't you have the ability to kill the thread and/or delete posts?
I just don't get it.
I am having fun talking with KWM and I, if I had power like you do might have wanted to ban other's before him, but now I have to talk to your designated OK posters only. And RED's OK posters. You guys are going over the edge with Banning lately. Didn't you, CG, just a week ago have to apologize for an unwarranted ban? Was that just a ruse? Was that forgotten?
I'm confused, where are the mod rules? Are you like CGC and not posting your grading criteria?
Please don't ban me, I just don't get it lately.

would you like some wine with that cheese? I'd be pissed if someone posted some personal info about me on a public website without my permission. I don't agree with a lot of things CG does, but in this case I do.

And I also don't know what the definition of "personal information" is and why it is different for some them others and while we're at it I don't know who Paratrooper is...Checking now...Ahhhh, I see all of your posts now and understand your interestingly unique style of verbosity.

Personal information is like posting a persons home address without consent to the general public. Kinda like this:
Vaughn Warren
12265 Milnor Rd
Pickerington, OH 43147
feel free to send me free shit btw, and "check" all you want

I don't know how it can be made any more clear for you, SS.
Members are not allowed to post personal information about other people. Period.
The other rule is you cannot harrass or troll other members.
That's about it on "rules" around here. It's pretty straightforward and lenient. It's not a power trip or fun. That's the final option for people who can't follow these two simple steps.

But, and I am being very humble here in my quires, why are we allowed to talk about eBay ID's and PGX, and expose scammers but not talk about peoples info once they are a member?
Truthfully Hoss, I just feel that I was talking to someone and liking them, in the posts we were discussing, and the person was banned, with to you Corral mods credit a notice as to such, but no explanation of why. Do I not get an explanation of why my new friend was banned? I'm not trying to cause trouble. I just don't understand why he was banned. I missed it. Please, someone fill me in.
Please don't ban me.
It said in the post that was made that he was banned for posting personal information.

I am just gonna have to trust that y'all are protecting me from danger. As you always have since we left the "other place". I love this place and Hoss, you run it so I have to trust you.

Me too SSPE.
However, posting on the other side of the globe and therefore (naturally) being about 12 hours out of synch with the rest of the Board ('cept you Yarmak) means ALL the drama happens when I am asleep.
I get up, log on and find there has been a "Night of the Long Knives" and then have to do a lot of "forensics" to work out what happened.
I understand that the world is not going to stop turning so that I can have a real time interaction with the Corral.
However, sometimes I log on and the whole thing is very Kafkaesque.

Lol...very Kafkaesque...that pretty much sums it up. Especially today.
"There are only two things. Truth and lies. Truth is indivisible, hence it cannot recognize itself; anyone who wants to recognize it has to be a lie."

some people use a forum like this for unacceptable behavoir, and have bad intentions.....like posting personal info ( even if it's wrong ), badgering, trolling, unjustified negative attacks, and bad will towards others. This on any public Forum, like this one, may only represent 3% of the online community, but this 3% causes 97% of the problem.
Bans are a needed tool to get rid of the 3%...... in the case in question, it was a no-brainer that a combination of the above offenses were present....banning was an appropriate respone.
moderators have an important responsibility.....they take out the garbage

silly, if you're talking about who I think you're talking about, past history probably should be considered.
I don't know anything about his posting personal information, but I certainly don't think that's a good idea. Anyone on the Christmas card exchange list knows my name and address, but that's because I volunteered it. My choice.
And if you thought this poster was a nice guy with something to day... well, he fooled most of us over on the eBay board as well. My first thought when I saw that ID was "Well, there goes the neighborhood."

And my therapy had been going so well. I was the initiator of the "Cartoons Kill" thread which sent our friend into a frenzy.

I agree 100% with that criteria for banning. Last year or so (maybe longer) a guy stalked down and killed someone over an internet disagreement. It was nothing more than that.

It's kind of like this board in that any thread that discusses the contents of a modern book sinks straight into oblivion. :)

But we're comic geeks. Rolling a twelve sided dice at somebody won't do them any real life harm.

The corral was.....I believe created as a response to the heavy moderation of the eBay boards back in? 2004? Anybody. And this is Corral #3? I think. Anybody? Camp? CG? FT? Yarmak? UHHH I know I'm missing a lot of you. Sorry.
That's right, SS. This is the third version of the Comics Corral. The first CC was a proboards version and we lost all of our original posts. :(

Well, I'm sorry, the guy seemed cool and what with CG accidentally banning someone and me getting suspended I thought maybe y'all were going over board, but with all this recent activity I can see that moderating is a difficult task.

I see that as well Duffman and sometimes try to fathom it out but most times cannot be bothered on account there are more real life dramas that need atteneding too rather than crappy personality issues here
We are all grown up here why everyone cannot get along I have no idea
