As far as stories and the excitement they generate?

I rather have a stick in my eye than read Silver age stories.

I enjoy reading SA books, and not just because it would be fun to poke a stick in Ken's eye.
Modern comics have much more complex stories, dealing with more shades of characterization. SA stuff is often mindless escapist pap, but sometimes that's what I want.
It's fun to revel in the youthful "let's build a superhero clubhouse" antics of the old Legion of Super Heroes, and I enjoy wondering how long the Sea Devils can hold their breath before they realize they should put on their SCUBA gear. Usually an hour or so.
The stories are escapism, but they're innocent fun.
Modern comics have produced exceptional storylines that I'll be re-reading many times, but occasionally I need a nostalgia fix, and that's SA books.
I do draw the line at Uncle Mortie books though.

Ken, you've got to go back to Golden Age to get the stick-in-eye schtick.

Yeah, I'd rather have a stick in my eye than read Golden Age stories.
