Rules? Yeah we all hate 'em! So think of these more as guidelines, not that there is really any difference! To be honest The Comics Corral has never really needed a set of rules before, because our members are among the most intelligent, helpful and easy to get along with folks on the whole Internet. :)
But enough kissing up. As this forum has grown it's become clear that it's in our best interest to post an official list of what is acceptable use of the Comics Corral. Mind you, we've really never had a lot of problems and 99.44/100 percent of our members have never and will never violate any of these guidelines. So with that said, this all might seem rather a waste of time on my part, but bear with me. :-?
REVEALING PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT OTHER MEMBERS. #angry1#
Obviously, this cannot be allowed for so many reasons. Members are not allowed to reveal any personal information (Full Name, Address, Telephone Number, Pet's Name, Locker Combination, etc.) about another user without that user's permission.
SPAMMING (either in the forum or by PM) #angry1#
The current trends are offers for mobile phones and Viagra-type drugs. Spammers will be banned permanently with great pleasure and without hesitation.
SHILL or MULTIPLE USER ID's #angry1#
Corral members are only allowed to have one ID. Also previously banned users are not allowed to sign-up with new shill ID's.

The Corral is friendly place. That's not to say that the occasional difference of opinion isn't welcome, it is, in fact it's encouraged! But persons who come to the Corral with an agenda to make trouble, or for the purpose of trolling* other members, or creating other problems will be cut loose in short order.

Did I mention that the Corral is friendly place? Friendly in that trolling and perpetual harassment are discouraged. There is a fine line between what is trolling/harassment and what is simply discourse between two or more members. However, grudges stemming from personal dislike, or old arguments left over from other message forums are not allowed on the Comics Corral. Avoiding someone you don't like is not a problem on the Corral. The Corral has an ignore user feature which you can use to block anyone whose messages you don't wish to read, or you can simply choose to not read that persons threads.
Disagreements among members are probably inevitable, feel free to post those, but hammering the same member over and over and over and over and over...is really annoying, it's boring, and no one else cares. If a mod finds a pattern of trolling and harassment, they may sanction or ban the offending user. So cut the crap, or get a room!

The Comics Corral staff isn't here to teach manners and good behavior to adults (most of our members are adults). If an adult hasn't learned those things by the time they reach maturity, then we can't help 'em! #dunno#
Hoss created the Corral as an alternative to a stuffy, badly moderated, soul-destroying, speech-denying, filthy, rancid, yucky, blechy, comic message board..., um we'll call it Brand-E. He has managed in a few short years, with your help, to make a site which is not only vital and growing, but gaining in recognition all over the 'net! With your continued support we're going to reach even higher in the years to come. :)
