The scans of UXM 212 and 221 appear to have some rippling as these were older scans where they weren't taken out of the bag. Rest assured, these two books are in great shape.

Wasn't it great that Jim Aparo lived in Plainville? (Or was it Southington?) Did you meet him at The Sphinx Temple cons?

I "believe" he lived in West Hartford. Unfortunately, I did not get to meet him personally--though these were OO and the person I bought them from had them signed by him then as per my understanding.

By the way, where in CT are you? I'm in oh-so-exciting-Bristol. Do you frequent the Plainville shows at the VFW?

I live in the NE Corner near Killingly/Putnam, but I used to live in Manchester and work at Buried Under Comics. I don't go to the Plainville/East Hartford shows anymore b/c it's the same dealers every time and they never have anything on my Want List (plus Plainville is like a 45 minute ride).
Art from The Eye Opener used to put on shows at The Sphinx Temple on the Berlin Tpke. That's where I met Jim Aparo and Dave Cockrum. And Hal (The Bookie) once had John Byrne at the East Hartford show. Good times!

Yeah, I know Art--pretty nice fella. I always hear stories about the warehouse of his filled with comics--too bad he doesn't set up in Plainville. There's a show that sets up occasionally in East Hartford, but it's pretty small and limited on selection.

That's really cool you were able to meet Dave and Jim--talented, talented creators. One of these days, I'm going to try and get in the hunt for a Dave Cockrum-signed comic. BUT, too many other things in line first.
