Hi all, I'll be setting up for the first time at the Chelmsford, Massachusetts comic show this coming August 3rd. I've heard good things about this show so I decided to give it a try, even before I found out that Larry the promoter was offering free admission
I'll have lots of Silver and Bronze age books. If anyone on the list is going to the show please stop by and say HI, the table name is "East Bay Comics" I'll try to make up a sign. I'll link to the shows site below
Thanks,
Dave Hennen

That's the cons I'd like to go to, just about comics. Toys and anime is OK. No Hollywood stuff or video games stuff like San Diego. I wish I could go there.

The Chelmsford, MA show turned out to be a good time. Easy to find off the highway and lots of new faces. This was my first time doing the show and I did a little better than break even, probably paid for my gas up and back and a trip to McD's for dinner. All in all a fun day, although my son who helped probably has a different opion...
Here's a couple of pics, I think you can find more at larryscomics.net

Nice Pix! #rockon#
I sure hope you really did better than break even....as a guy who sets up at several shows a year I know how much work it takes to do them.

Hi Habib, yup it is a lot of work. If you can hook me up with a show that has a guaranteed profit I'll load up the Jeep again and hit the road!
It was my first time at the show, no real idea of the crowd although I did see a few folks I knew. I'd love to have gone home with a few more dead presidents in my pocket but I was happy. I got a few want list items that I'll bring next time, that's how I try to build some rapport with the customer
Thanks for asking!

No such thing as guaranteed profit in this marketplace Dave! #creep# Wish there was....
We do shows in the midwest which is probably too far for you to travel. Don't know what the best shows are in the east.
Out here......
Gem City Con in Dayton OH has been a real good 1-day show since it started 3 years ago.
Mid-Ohio-Con in Columbus OH (2-days) is usually a good show as well.
Indianapolis IN has a 1 day show six times a year. It is usually nice show for us.
Good luck on your conventioning!

It's nice to see a seller wearing union duds (joker T-shirt)...I respect them a little more than someone wearing a polo shirt. It makes you look easier to talk to and that you really like and respect the hobby. Hope you did better than a happy meal..LoL! Looks like you had some nice stuff.

Isn't your son a comic reader? Or was it, he had to WORK for YOU!! Don't you just love Teenagers!!! :)

A comic convention where they sell nothing but comics?
It sounds crazy — just crazy enough to work! I'm going to suggest it to ComicCon International.
