CGC vs "Amateur Graders" Guess the Grade! - Part 6

Congrats again to Jael for being the Grading King of the last game!

Game 5 had the best participation yet! 9 Corralites played every round. Outstanding! Let's have that type of participation in all 10 rounds here in Game 6!

As a refresher, here are the grading standards and rules for this game.....

Grading Standards:

Poor - 0.5
Fair - 1.0
Fair/Good - 1.5
Good Minus - 1.8
Good - 2.0
Good + - 2.5
Good/Very Good - 3.0
VG Minus - 3.5
VG - 4.0
VG + - 4.5
VG/Fine - 5.0
Fine Minus - 5.5
Fine - 6.0
Fine + - 6.5
Fine/VF - 7.0
VF Minus - 7.5
VF - 8.0
VF + - 8.5
VF/Near Mint - 9.0
Near Mint Minus - 9.2
Near Mint - 9.4
Near Mint + - 9.6
Near Mint/Mint - 9.8
Mint - 9.9
Gem Mint - 10.0

RULES:

Guess what grade you think CGC gave the comic (which may not necessarily be the grade you would give it)

Only one guess per round.

The first poster with the CGC grade (or closest if no matches) gets (10) CorralCash. Other subsequent correct guesses will get (5) CorralCash each.

AND

"Guess the Grade" Game - Part 6 will have 10 rounds.

The Corralite who on average for all 10 rounds is closest to the CGC grade will win a bonus of 75 CorralCash & Free Comics!! You have to play all 10 rounds to be eligible for the free comics & bonus CorralCash. A round will usually be a few days.

BONUS - 25 CorralCash awarded to those who participate in all 10 rounds.

Kinda hard to tell from the scan. There appears to be cracks, creases or dents on the case that make it harder to pick out the defects (of course, I'm not grading the case). There are some discoloration and color breaking creases along the spine. And it looks like a crease on the lower right corner as well as some scuffs along the right side. The back looks nice, but it's tough to see any creases if there are any because of the white. But you can tell there is a little problem with the lower corner on the spine. I'll call that a 7.0.

I overgraded last time, so I'm probably overcompensating, but I'm going with 6.5

Mal......you mean your definition of "this weekend" doesn't include from now until Dec 31, 2006. Hell, I thought everybody knew that!!

Seriously though.....real life calls.....so cyber-games get put on hold until I am able to fit them in.

For those curious.....the CGC grade was 6.5 so bolt_boy was the winner of the first round (nice grading bolt!). I will get up the stats "later".

LOL, of course this is not as critical as whatever you're dealing with, hope it's not too overwhelming. But you've got to remember there are some (eg moi) who don't have a life. (Tried to respond twice yesterday, and it was up to its old Log-In tricks again. I'd sign in, write a message, and as soon as I hit Submit I'd go back to Log-In screen again, message is gone.)

Wow! I was starting to have misgivings about the 7.0 I gave it. I was beginning to think I graded it too harshly, while the opposite was true.

habib, thanks for the fun and entertaining games. I know it takes a lot of time and work to get it together. We know life happens.
