OK....read and respond went over pretty well so.....
Lets review what read and respond is all about......
What I want to do is share some comics with all my fellow Corralites. What I mean by share is I plan on posting a complete....yes, complete obscure Golden Age comic for your reading pleasure. And when I say complete I mean ads and all! It may take me several posts over a couple days but the end result will be the whole comic! I will try to post a different comic once or twice a month.
OK.....now comes your part dear Corralite....the read and review part. Take out some time and read the posted comic. Then post your review/response/discussion/or any old comment about the current comic. You may want to talk about the genre, cover, ads, storyline, your likes or dislikes, artwork......whatever......just post!
Every Corral member who posts their comments about the comic will receive 5 bonus CorralCash for participating in this thread.
Still interested?
Is habib crazy? (most likely... #creep# )
This read and respond comic will come from the Horror genre.........Enjoy!

The art was OK on this story but the story it's self was sort of chopped up. I didn't much care for it, myself.
It was sort of funny the the city was Metropolis and the hero's name is Bruce!!

You had me at the cover. L. B. Cole is one of my favorite cover artist. And the lead story is by Jay Disbrow, another of my favorite artist. It doesn't get much better than this. The stories by themselves are corny, but that's part of the appeal of Sci-Fi/horror from the 50's.

Almost done with Ghostly Weird Stories #122.
What we have left is a 10 page Rulah story titled "Mankillers" and 3 ad pages. Two of the ad pages are in the middle of the Rulah story and the other is the last page of the comic. The inside back cover and back cover will be the last images.
So without further delay.....
Pages 20-23 are the first part of the Rulah story.

Like I said in an earlier post I didn't much care for the story "The Face of Death". It was just too chopped up for my likeing.
The "Evidence of Murder" story was pretty good. It just goes to show you that there isn't any "perfect murder". Of course we all know that because we watch CSI!!
The title for "Mankillers" didn't really make any sences (sp). If Rulah is from the US why is she in the Congo? Plus how did all the mordern stuff get to that lost city? Art was pretty good, who did it?
The ads are as cute as always!! "Nylons Guaranteed for 9 mos." I don't think so!! SP, how do you like the stamp ad? And just what a man needs a "Amazing New "Bodyguard"! Even has an extra pouch!!! #jester#
Oh by the way, I did like the story "Death Ship" just not the ending!

I would like to add a few comments about the Rulah story. It's a very typical "good girl" story from that era. However, what stood out to me was the last panel. It sounds an awful lot like what some demagogues are saying today. It's funny how some things never change. Maybe speech writers are lifting from the comic pages.

Dude! You KNOW I read it! Your the man habib! I loved it. The cover art is awesome. As I was reading the stories I couldn't help but think of the Charlton comics! Most of the stories were pretty bad, but in a great way! My favorite was Mankiller. Hot woman in almost nothing! Mmmmm....heaven! #cloud9# The text story was another one I really enjoyed. Cool stuff! Gotta say, I enjoyed this ALOT more than the romance book! LOL
