I have watched 3 movies on DVD in the last couple days.

My Thoughts....

First up.........A zombie horror movie called Severed.

Good action and scares! Average gore for this type of movie. No nudity present.

Light on plot.....genetic research on trees gone bad turns humans into Zombies....not sure what that's all about but whatever....

Acting pretty good for B-Movie fare.

Overall......recommended!

The second was another horror movie called Zombi 2 .

Some good Zombie moments and gore (the eye scene being the best).

Overall a little light on action scenes but an OK plot about Zombies on an remote Island in which a girl tries to find her father and the doctor on the Island trying to find a cure for the afliction.

Quite a bit of nudity present in this one.

Decent acting but the main problem of the film is the voice dubbing is not done very well and detracts from the viewing pleasure.

Still......recommended to horror (& nudity) fans!

The third movie was V For Vendetta.

Well acted.....but overly long. Action sequences were done well but they were too few and far between. Dialog somewhat over the top at times.

Plot was way to preachy about the evils of the USA and how we caused this fascist state of England to come about.

Recommended (for the acting & cinematography) with reservations.

Anyone else seen any movies lately???

I watched The Hills Have Eyes this weekend. This is the remake version. I haven't see the old edition.

This was a typical horror flick featuring mutant hill people in the desert. The gore was perfect and plentiful if you are into that thing. The plot and the acting was mostly brainless, but if you like a good slasher movie this is definately one to check out. A better freak show movie was Wrong Turn.

I have Final Destination 3 and V for Vendetta coming in the mail this weekend. I'll give my thoughts on those two movies once I have had a chance to watch them!

I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night.
Johnny Depp is an amazing actor while Tim Burton is a fascinating director.
These two together could not possibly make a bad movie.
Depp's facial expressions and quick one-liners were hilarious.
The exaggerated behaviours and scenes made the movie complete.

I give it a thumbs-up.

I knew that Final Destination 3 wasn't going to be all that good, and i wasn't let down. This is one you can skip. The deaths that were handed out just weren't as grisly/cool/creative as the ones in parts 1 and 2. I think this franchise should be meet it's final destination after this episode. bleh.

I also watched She's the Man with Amanda Bynes. I'm not sure which of these movies was scarier. double bleh from Netfilx today!

Coming up next is X-Files season 1. I never had a chance to watch the show when it first came out so I am going to give it a try.

X-Files is cool!! I started to watch it the first season around the 3rd or 4th episode after some co-workers talking about it. I got hooked ever since. The first few season rocks and the last two or three has been somewhat medicore.

I recommend Saw and Saw 2 and The Mangler and the Mangler 2. Great plots in the saws and beautiful gore and just plain gore in the Manglers.

Well the first disc of X-Files was pretty good. The only problem I have is that the look of the show is VERY dated. I didn't think it has been THAT long!

Next up is SILENT HILL! I'm really excited for this one!

I've never had a chance to watch toy story! I'll get around to it someday!

I did watch Silent Hill this weekend. It was a pretty good movie with a good storyline. It just wasn't very scary. It's still worth a watch though!

Not a movie but I just finished up my DVD set of Supernatural Season 1.

This was some awesome TV. Each episode was like a mini-movie! The two main characters of Sam & Dean rock!

Lots of chills, laughs and drama in this series. Anyone who is a fan of this genre will enjoy this DVD set.

Highest recommendation!

You're not alone on Supernatural. I love that show. I'm glad it's still on the air considering UPN and the WB joining forces.

SIN CITY was awesome! Came on the cable late at night long after my rugus rattus went to sleep. Very disturbing and very enlightening. My local Comics shop has started to dump early Sin City appearances in Dark Horse Presents and most of them are signed. I bought a stack of them for a dime a book. The read was different than the veiw. Both were good.

I was actually enlightened by the Senator's speech to the recovering hero with tubes sticking out of his sorry self. Very deep and instructive dialogue. What Ditko meant to say in his Mr. A series. Miller put together thoughts that added some missing pieces in my own life.

Creepy movie though. Drifts between the high action thriller and the murder mystery and a horror story and lengths of just plain boring! That's why I wasn't interested in the first place.

Went to see "Grindhouse" a couple weeks ago.

I can't believe this movie tanked so bad at the box office.

Great action, humor, gore, awesome fake trailers......you name it.....it was in this flick!

I guess having a movie like this on Easter weekend was not such a good idea.....plus it was 3+ hours long which probably kept many movie goers away.

If the action/suspense/horror genre is your thing.....go see this movie.

Five out of Five Stars !!

I got The Departed, Casino Royale and The Prestige on DVD.

The Departed - A great movie. If you like mob movies, Martin Scorese (sp?) movies and an ensemble cast. This is the one to rent.

Casino Royale - A somewhat good movie. A different Bond than I'm used to but it doesn't mean it sucks but a different Bond makes for interesting good stories in the future based on this movie.

The Prestige - I liked the plot but it went on and on and on......dragging. If you like twists, this is the one.

I watched Pan's Labriyth DVD tonight and I can't recommend it enough. It definately was not what I was expecting...and I didn't realize it was going to be so gruesome at times. It was a nice suprise! :Test:

Anyway, this one gets a 5 out of 5 from me!

Hi Hoss, is Pan's Labriyth in English? I don't like watching a movie with sub-titles or if it is in a lang. I don't know which is anything other than english!

How did you like the ending of The Prestige, MG?? ;)

I never saw it coming. It's a very good ending to a otherwise long movie, but you have to pay attention to details. This movie is made by the same guy who did Memento, that is a good movie. I liked the backwards concept and the surprise ending.
