Hi guys & gals,

I'm might not be able to get online for the next three or four days. I'm leaving to go to Jacksonville to see about my Dad and if I stay with family most of them don't have internet. My Uncle called me last night to let me know that Dad had been in and out of the hospital twice in the last 2 weeks. He told me he is going down fast now.

I know I let everyone know, that my Dad has Throat Cancer back last year when I had my cancer scare and he had been doing really good but I have been told that he is to the point he can't keep anything down and he has lost over 10 pounds just in the last few weeks. Which for someone like me wouldn't be much but my Dad only weighs in at around 145 on a good day. He has even got where he can't talk.

I'm going down to see if I can talk him in to going into a nursing home or something where he can get the right kind of care. He will not move up here to Griffin so I can take care of him and he won't move in with his brother either. He has lived by himself for so long that he has really became a hermit. My Mom has even offered to move down to Jacksonville to look after him (they have been divorce for over 40 years) and he will not hear of it.

He says he has lived a long and full life (he will be 72 in December) and that he is tired. He is one stubborn old cuss!! So I'm not sure what I will have to do and I might have to start going down there a few days every week. Which I don't mind but he doesn't even like that idea when I said something about it the last time I was down there. He and I haven't been very close over the years but DAMN IT he is my Father and we all knew it would come to this but it's still hard!

So I'll work on keeping ya'll posted when I can. So any and all prayers and good thoughts would be very welcome.

Love you guys,
Linda

Sorry to hear that, too. It's best to stay strong and positive when you are confronted with a dilemma like this. Have a safe trip.

Hi Everyone,

Well, my father is still in the hospital and his cancer is speading. It's now in his lungs and his bladder and the cancer in his throat has got bigger. When he comes out of the hospital he will be going into a nursing home and he may or may not be able to go home from there.

We knew it was coming but it's still hard to take. He is still having trouble keeping anything down and they ain't sure when he will be able to even leave the hospital. So I'm still in Jacksonville but my Uncle has DSL (Big Surprise) so I'm able to get online as ya'll can see. But I might have to go stay at my Aunt's on Thursday since my Uncle's granddaugther will be having a birthday party with a sleepover on Friday night and Saturday and they won't have room for me!

Please keep them thoughts and prayers coming!!

Later Gator,
Linda

Since the Ultimate Nullifier only exist in comics, prayer/thoughts is the next best thing.
You've got them coming your way.
Take care.

Well, my Dad will be seeing a GI (gastrointestinal) doctor today to see if there is anything that might be keeping him from keeping anything down. Right now that is the biggest worry, his not being about to keep anything down much. And because he can't keep anything down he can't take his Cemo for the cancer. He is only weighing in at around 110 lbs right now. Which means he has lost around 40 lbs just in the last month.

I will be going back home tomorrow, I think because there really isn't anything I can do and he doesn't want me there. And I can't take it wrong because he dont want ANYONE around him. But I will be coming back down here most likely next weekend to check on him even if he doesn't like it. I can be just as stubborn as he is!! And I'm bigger than him too!!

Hopefully my brother will be able to come down and check on him next month since I'm going to be out of the country some with Arthur. Plus Arthur and I will make a trip down to see him while Arthur is home.

I'm will be staying with my Aunt Jean tonight and she doesn't have internet (I don't think) so it most likely will be tomorrow evening before I can get back online. I'll work on keeping ya'll posted.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, they are most welcome and ya'll are the BEST!

Well, I'm back home for awhile. Dad will be having the test (on monday) where they put a scope down his throat to check what is giving him the pain in his chest. I'm home to take care of some business and pay some bills, etc but most likely will be going back down by the middle or end of next week.

The cancer is spreading but that's not what is the reason he is in the hospital. As soon as he comes out of the hospital he will be going into a nursing home I have already set up for him.

Best Wishes, Linda.

I lost my MIL just a few months ago to lung cancer.
Was fine till last fall, then went downhill quick.
Things just kept piling up on her till she finally gave in.

I hope He pulls through.
