Anyone have any information on this ped / examples they can share? I'm aware of the store stamp / date, but are copies from this pedigree distinguished by any other notable characteristics?

The Bethlehem Collection was found in 1991 by Joe Rainone and Philip Weiss. It was dubbed the Bethlehem Collection because a large percentage of the books, particularly, those from the 1950's were imprinted on the back covers with an arrival date and a store stamp which read "E.J. Kery, Kodak-Film-Magazine Shop 703 E. 4th Street, Bethlehem, PA". While others from this era revealed only a lower case "b" stamped on the front or back covers. In some, but not all cases the lower case "b" marking seemed to be indicative of a second or third copy of the same book. Some doubles and triples did not have any authenticity markings of any kind.
The issues from the 1960's were imprinted on the front or back cover with a small typed arrival date, for example, "Dec 14 1967". This prestigious collection consisted of approx. 18,000 pieces of printed materials including magazines and pulps and ranged between the years 1949 - 1969.
The Bethlehem Collection comic books contain some notable identifiable characteristics; Most books have incredible gloss, revealing brilliant ink reflectivity and bright colors. Structurally most books were near perfect save for a front or back cover chip out. Lesser page quality and more prominent dust or sun shadows were likely to be seen on Bethlehem books from the 1960's, due to improper storage.
Most importantly, what makes the Bethlehem Collection one of the most famous "pedigree" collections was that it was all purchased by an original owner, a gentleman named Stanley Pachon. Mr. Pachon was a nationally recognized collector of Horatio Alger books. After he passed away, an estate sales revealed a home filled with printed material stacked from floor to ceiling, from the basement to the attic. The complete story of this collection was first reported in local central Pennsylvania newspapers and in the Comic Book Market Place #7.

It finally arieved today.Seller waited nearly a week to ship it.I guess I'm lucky it didn't get completly destroyed cause the box had a big 5" rip in the front and it was only wrapped up in a couple of pages from a newspaper and packed with a few peanuts(yes I did take pics of that). The case has a couple of scratches but it can wait a little while.

Marnin Rosenberg sold the Sci-Fi / Horror portion of the collection in the late 90's.Supposedly one of the financial backers for the collection chose to be paid off with all of those and went with Marnin when he chose to sell. I was lucky enough to get the Astonishing 3 & 5...and dumb enough to trade them off a couple years later. The gloss was absolutely incredible. GOD BLESS...
