View Full Version : Need help indetifying a Marvel comic book please.

The book in question is X-Calibre Ultimate Edition May 1995 1st printing.It has a solid gold foil cover and collects Age of Apocalypse #1-4.It is square bound with an $8.95 cover price.

It is not listed in OPG under anything I can find.Indicia has Ultimate X-Calibre.According to the OPG the Age of Apocalypse actually came out later in '95.

Anyone know anything about this book?(and yes,I did a search on feebay.found 4,low price of $9.99.Is it very scarce?)

Don't think they are that rare Toz......

I see the Gold cover X-Calibre, X-Man, Weapon-X, Factor X and Generation Next Age of Apocalypse graphic novels at conventions for anywhere from $2-10.

I don't think they are variant covers or whatnot......just the way those graphic novels were produced.

I think Habib has got it nailed down. The dates you mentioned, it's possible that the books came out in May 1995 with August 1995 cover date at first but it shows when it was printed at first on the TPB. Just a guess.

Or rather, an error on Marvel's part.

I tried to post a pic but can't seem to do it tonight,mind must be in neutral or something.Anyway MG,sorry.There are some pics/scans on feebay but they are all as crappy as mine if you want to check them out.

Thanks Habib,I figured as much but it not being in OPG kinda threw me off a bit.

It's nice for a TPB. Wasn't there a gold-foiled cover of Onslaught one-shot or something like that?

yeah those gold foil trades sell for 2- 10 most of the time.

Yes, I usually get around $10 for the various gold squarebound collections. That one features the alternate universe Excaliber. It and the X-Man collection are the weaker of the bunch, sales-wise.
