Correct me if I'm wrong but this just doesn't look like an 8.0 comic. If it is the Billy The Kid 8.0 I just got is graded way low.

Look at all the color breaks on the spine. It also sold yeaterday on ebay for $58,600.Were they just a little generous on this one?

SA Key bump?

I concur (with M.G.'s 6.5-7.0) and with the SA bump.

And this book was seriously mashed flat by somebody (pressed...sigh).

And not-so-micro-trimmed? Or is that just paranoid ol' me? #tomato#

Tell me what you think of this 9.9 (look at the bottom edge)!

Those books look like they were damaged AFTER they had been incased.
Maybe they were stored wrong and result of it was the edges.

Possibly the MAD was dropped. You can't get damage like that on the Fat & Slat without getting it wet. If water damage occurred after grading, you'd most likely see some kind of residue in the case. I'm inclined to say that they graded the Fat & Slat on a curve since it id so rare and it's a Crippen copy.

Seeing as how its in an old cgc case... I would guess that they were nice to one of the 25 companies that supported their start....and gave a little " curve " as you say.

Just a guess

That is an old case. I thought the Crippen collection was released after they changed the case. Would this have been a "stolen" book?
