Being so close to Christmas, I got to thinking about how many comics I've read over the years that had a Christmas theme to it.
The one that sticks out most in my mind, probably because it's one of the first I read, is BATMAN 239.
It's got a nifty Adams cover with a great story about a father down on his luck whom BATMAN gave a second chance to. The father betrayed BATMAN's trust but in the end, the spirit of Christmas saves the day!
I'd say BATMAN 309 is a close 2nd with another nifty cover wrapped in holly. The Blockbuster himself is the evildoer in this case but again, the spirit of Christmas saves the day.
Which comic book sticks out most in your mind?

Donald Duck's A Christmas for Shacktown. Great scene of the kids' toy train having to save Scrooge's fortune.

There was a story in 1989's Christmas with the Super-Heroes set after the events in Crisis on Infinite Earths. I don't remember all the details of it, but it featured Deadman of all characters! I only remember that in it, an anonymous blond woman helps Boston Brand find the Christmas spirit and that at the end of the story it is revealed that she is actually the ghost of Supergirl, or at least the reader is lead to believe that she is. It was the first post-Crisis mention of Supergirl I believe, and a very touching story, at least to a comic geek who felt that Kara's death in COIE was an injustice to the character.

One I always remember is a Batman story reprinted in one of DC's old treasuries. Batman goes to police headquarters and spends the entire night there relaxing with several cops. They sing Christmas carols and that sort of thing. Meanwhile, the city has a "silent night" in which there are no crimes and no calls for help from the cops or Batman.

That book is also something of a minor key - Frank Miller's first work on Batman.

Yeah, i also have that one. Well, actually HAD would be more precise. It's the one with the John Byrne cover, yes?
I gave mine away just last week as an early Christmas present to a kid. I just thought it would be an apt Christmas present to give...unlike my Punisher Christmas special and Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special (Honestly? THIS is my favorite..funny stuff..vintage Lobo  ).

LOL!
I remember that book but never had the nerve to actually buy it.
That Miller Holiday Special shouldn't be too difficult to find for under $15.
