The End League (Dark Horse)
The Twelve (Marvel)
I thought these series are supposed to run longer than what I've seen so far...anyone know??

Can't say about The End League but I had asked about The 12 on another board and got the answer that J.Michael whathisname is off doing something else and it's not for Marvel. He kinda left them high n' dry for who knows how long.
And people wonder why comics are going down hill these days.Although this is a syndrome that has existed for while.Shade The Changing Man from DC back in the 1970s among others.
I just got into Abadazad lately and thought it was only 3 issues but guess what?!? Crossgen went bankrupt and it was never finished.

I need closure on many of the Crossgen titles. There were some good books there, like Sojourn, Ruse, and others. Most were left hanging and Ruse was given a rushed, out-of-nowhere ending that just didn't fit.
My policy now with mini-series is buy the first issue to see if I'm interested, then wait for the TPB to be sure the story is complete.

I'm not sure what's up with End League.
It's every irritating.
Going to have to dig up the issues if 7 actually comes out on time.
I think 6 came out in Dec and now 7 isn't slated until March (in theory).
I might drop it from my pull list and just do the trades. Which is unfortunate as it's a great monthly read!
Well, bimonthly.
Quarterly...
Semi-annual?

As for JMS, these are his current film projects as listed in IMDB (which is not always accurate):
World War Z (2010) (announced (http://pro.imdb.com/r/legacy-inprod-name/inproduction/)) (screenplay)
Silver Surfer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1051916/) (2009) (announced (http://pro.imdb.com/r/legacy-inprod-name/inproduction/)) (writer)
They Marched Into Sunlight (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0446050/) (2010) (pre-production (http://pro.imdb.com/r/legacy-inprod-name/inproduction/)) (writer)
Ninja Assassin (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1186367/) (2009) (completed (http://pro.imdb.com/r/legacy-inprod-name/inproduction/)) (screenplay)
Will be interesting to see what damage he does to the Surfer.
World War Z was a great book. Be interesting to see how he adapts it to the screen.
So I'm sure he's quite enthralled by working on the big screen right now and putting print media on the back burner.

I don't hate JMS,in fact I like pretty much everything he has done.Babylon 5 is my favorite sci-fi show and he can't do any worse on the Silver Surfer than what was done if FF2(well Galactus anyway).Didn't read any of his Spidey stuff,I havn't read Spider-Man since around 1984.
I just hope they get someone else to do his voice.
What tics me off is these guys not finishing what they start. The 12 was one of the best reads I had found in a while. What's gonna happen with Thor, will someone else take it over?
Guess this is just another example of all the "Change" crap floating to the top these days.

I love B5 as well!
My fave scifi show of all time. Well, except S5 but that can be forgiven due to circumstance.
I like most of what I've read/seen that he's had a hand in, I just find that, like Morrison, he kinda works to his own universe and doesn't put as much thought to continuity/history as one might expect.

I think that's the rub right there,continuity/history.It seems like that is in short supply everywhere in comics these days.
Gone are the days of Buscema,Conway,Claremont & all the others who gave so many classics.
I think the current crop are all rejects from those monkeys that were sitting and typing, trying to write Shakespeare

End League was bi-monthly to begin with, and then they announced they were going monthly (in theory). Going monthly coincided with the new artist, who sucks really bad. I enjoyed the first few issues, but dropped it from my Pull List as soon as I read the "split" issue (the 1st artist (who I liked) did the 1st half of the book, then the current artist drew the 2nd half).
Also, JMS should never have been allowed to write Spider-Man.

Actually, it's the opposite for Morrison. If you've read Batman RIP or Final Crisis, you'll see that Morrison put too much continuity and history into the storylines. That's part of the reason some non drug-taking people can't follow the storyline :)

Please, nobody talk about Babylon 5! I borrowed the complete series (thanks secrets) and I'm only up to season 3 right now. It's pretty good, especially since they replaced that bland Michael O'Hare with Bruce Boxleightner. (sp. approximate)
I also thought Ambassador De'leen was pretty hot (in her hybrid form) until I realized that thing around her head was an outcropping of bone, not a ceremonial and removable head decoration as I'd previously assumed. Eeeewwwww.
I've already discovered that Ambassador De'leen ends up getting stranded on an island for 16 years, and that's enough spoilers for me.

Oh season 3 is the best.
It's got that one ep where that critical thing happens.
And the last 3 eps where those uber-critical things happen!!
lol
glad your liking it.

What is S5? Is that one of the Stargate series?

The Twelve is one of the series I liked reading......for a bit. I'll wait for #9 in a few years, just like Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk #3 in the spring.

No.
I meant that, with the exception of season 5, Babylon 5 is my favorite scifi genre show of all time.

You do realize that just because they've solicited 3 - 5 of U Hulk v Wolvie doesn't mean they have to actually have it ready...

B5 was one of the best written, well thought-out, and tightest continuities I have ever seen on TV. The series finale, which actually premiered before the 5th season still chokes me up (I'm such a fanboy!)
I'm sure the series finale of BSG will have a similar effect on me.

I agree about the finale of B5.
One of the best endings on TV.
Not sure I'll have the same feelings for BSG. I love the show but I'm just not as invested in BSG as I was in B5.

I've heard a couple people say Season 5 doesn't belong in the B5 canon, just as a lot of Northern Exposure fans (including me) feel that the real finale of the show was when Joel whooshed back to New York and is looking at the big buildings from the Staten Island ferry. Tack on the actual closing sequence of the townspeople at home while Iris DeMent sings "My Town" and that is the perfect closure to NE.
So what is the actual finale to B5? Is it the end of Season 4, as someone said to me? ("Don't bother with the last season in any way!") Or is it one of the movies?
And are all the movies pretty much clip shows? Is the last one really two people talking at each other on an empty sound stage? Should I stop asking questions and just watch the damm things?

B5 was kind of canceled with season 4 and a finale episode was shown which wrapped up all the plots. But then suddenly it was renewed for a fifth season. So I'm sure a lot of people who were fans felt that nothing in Season 5 much mattered as the outcome of the series had already been revealed. The fifth season seemed a little out of synch with the previous five mainly due to the loss of Claudia Christian's character Susan Ivanova from the cast. However there was still plenty of life in the series in my opinion. I think they hoped that B5-S5 would help make the transition to Crusade easier, unfortunately that series never got up to speed.
As for the ending, I think the fact that Ivanova was missing from Season 5, yet present in the finale makes the finale even more poinant, especially when viewed after having watched the first five seasons in order, which is the way I first saw it.

Pretty much what jaydeebee said. The show was planned for a 5 year story-arc. During season 4 the network it was on (TBS?) decided not to renew it, so JMS had to wrap his major storylines up. They shot a "final" episode during season 4 that was intended to be the series finale.
Then TNT decided to pick up the show for it's final season. Season 4 was left as it was, except the series finale was now held until the end of season 5. Season 5 started out a little slow, and it seemed like that akward middle child for a while, but then I thought it picked up some steam and headed to a nice finish.
And that final episode, one of the best series finales I can think of.

JMS is a good writer. It was Joe Quesada's intervention that started ruining the character, and now there is no hope for the webcrawler, he's so screwed up!

As JDB and Secrets said, S5 was written after the apparent cancellation of the series and JMS had written the series finale for S4.
This is not to say that S5 is not worth watching. While it has nothing to do with the Shadow War there are still some good eps. Also, Captain Lockley is a pretty good character as well.
As for the movies, 'In the Beginning' is the only 'clip ep' as it was done just to present a visual history of all the lore that was already told using much of the existing footage from flashbacks. But it's still a good movie as it does give a bit of extra background of events and a view of the Earth/Mimbari war.
The rest of the movies are set 'in universe' but have little to do with the overall arc of the first 4 season and so can be seen at any time.
Crusade was a good show that was never really given a chance. The same people that dicked around with B5 for 5 season did the same with Crusade but killed it early rather than give it a chance. Still, it's worth watching as a follow up to the end of the Shadow War.

Too Much (sputter sputter) That's just crazy talk!! (my daughter helped me with this part)
My comic plot based on the idea that ALL comic book stories are just telling different parts of the same story is some 80 pages so far. I feel that an interesting story is all a plot needs to be read.
