I've always wanted to have something like that. I've never thought it has been built or made until you posted that storage unit. It pretty much acts as a legal-size file cabinet for comics books but with wood finish. I have been contemplating about getting a legal sized file cabinet for my collections since each can hold about 2,000 comics and you can keep in your closet, it keeps kids from getting in your collections. Nice find, Linda.
Great post Linda! Those are some nice cabinets! Wow!

I've seen these before. Someone on STL or maybe CGC uses them. His wife built them I believe, but same concept. Great idea. I use the wood filing cabinets myself. Holds lots of comics and I can keep them in order easily enough.

When you use the legal size file cabinets do you put your books in side by side or sideways and if sideways the spine up or down?

Hi Linda #hello#
I put them in side by side. I can fit three rows of comics in each drawer. Filed alphabetically, except Batman and Detective Comics, which each have their own drawer.

Hi SM,
My LCS now have the drawers like that for sale at $13.25 each, I believe. And I'm looking into them but I'm still thinking about it.
CG,
I'm doing pretty good, I guess! Arthur went back to Afghanistan Sunday and I'm missing him but I have already talked to him four or five times since he left!! Thank goodness we don't have to pay for the phone calls!! Thanks for asking!
Hi Hoss,
What kind of prices are you going to have on the ones you will be selling?
Linda
The Comic Houses I'll be adding are slightly different. These provide the main structure, and the boxes you use will be the short BCW comic boxes I also sell.
The price for the Comic Houses will be around $35 for 10 units plus the price of the 10 boxes ($16.50). That's a hell of a bargain! If you have already bought short boxes from me, it will be even cheaper (you just need the houses)!
If anyone wants more info on these, let me know! They will be in my store next week, but they are available now if anyone can't wait!
Hoss
PS
.
Here are the details of the comic houses:
Comic Book Short House is a heavy-duty short box (sold separately) which slides into a reinforced “shell”. This combination allows you to stack boxes up to six boxes high, while still being able to instantly access any one of the boxes’ contents without needing to break your back rearranging stacks of heavy comic boxes.
Short House come in two parts: the drawer (any regular short box), the shell, and one reinforcement pieces (“sleeve”) which make the already-strong outer sleeve even more sturdy. The pieces are formed from white 200 lb-test cardboard.
- Slides open like a file drawer
- Double thickness
- Brilliant white
- High quality
- Stackable
- Cardboard Corrugated Materials
- Holds 1 Short Comic Box
- L 16 1/2 X W 9 X H 12 3/4
i'll try and post up an image whenever I can.
