View Full Version : Bronze Marvel reprint titles question

I just got a nice lot of 70's comics and there were several of the Marvel reprint books;Greatest,Spectacur,Super Action & so forth.Some of these are in above average condition.Most that I have seen are around VG and down.

My question is this: Are these titles harder to come by in higher grades? If they are,is it because of their nature,being reprints and they possibly got handled more as reading copies,while the originals stayed tucked away safe & sound?

I get a lot reprint stuff and most of the stuff that I've come across is usually Fine + or better. It may just be the seller of the material. I believe when the 70s came along most of the comics were there to read. I know that's all I did with them. I didn't think about putting them in safe keeping. If I did I would probably be rich now. When the 80s came along I think most people started taking care of their stuff a lot better.

I think most collector's scorned the reprints unless they were able to afford everything. I did buy them to get the back story on Spiderman and the Hulk. Occasionally I'd buy some others. I think these are probably harder to find and the grades would be all over the scale like anything else.

I haven't seen much of the 70's reprints in HG. I have seen Marvel Triple Action #1 in HG going for mucho money.

Yeah,I've been looking for that one myself.It's either too ratty or too much $.I love the covers on the first 3 issues.

I think that is what atracts me to the reprint titles.They sometime had better covers.

Yes, the covers are nice. New covers, old interiors.

White one is tough to find in higher grade my best is VF I think
