Brian Vickers is the dumbass who crashed Junior and Jimmie Johnson to win the race. It's a good thing Victory Lane is not within bottle throwing range from the grandstands, cuz the rednecks were ready to rumble.

I think I got it. Pasnat has a sister who is a racing junkie. You must have met them. What do I win?

Yep, it's Pasnat and his sister!!
What you win is knowing you guessed it FIRST!!! :P
We had a great time, we seat at the Waffle House for over two hours just talking about any and everything. The pics were taken right before I leave to go back to GA and they went back to their hotel.
Pasnat is the 2nd person I have met from the Corral. I have also met habib at Heroes Con in NC last June/July.
Wouldn't it be nice to be able to meet everyone from here??

Wow Linda, that was cool....Pas..it's great to put a picture to the name. It would be fantastic to meet everyone here from the corral someday. I always tell Stace if we win the lottery we'll fly everyone to one place and make a weekend out of it like they did on M.A.S.H. with all their families.

That's really impressive, Stace and I are working on all the Amazing Spiderman's and Batman's for the next twenty or so years. We're also working on getting an online store for old comics as well. I checked your store out....niccce. How long have you had it??
Hank.
Oh yeah, I'm also a drummer of twenty six years so I looove music too.

Hi Ox/Hank.
You are both probably looking at snow out your windows right now, no?
Here in Sudbury, it's around the freezing mark, we may or may not get some of that white wet stuff in the next few days.
I hear Saskatchewan and Thunder Bay were getting nailed with some harsh weather too.
Anyway, Ox, good luck with the WONDER WOMAN collection.
I'm in the same boat as you but with BATMAN.
I'm still trying to fill in those elusive first 60 issues...at an affordable price of course!

Well I actually could be a heck of alot closer to my goal but I have been focusing on getting the issues between 50 and 97. These are REALLY hard t0o come by especially in stable condition since the paper was of extremely poor quality (much like the paper in the Atlas books of the 50's)
My online store has been up in one form or another for a few years. I have not had ANY luck with it yet but I am going to be working on improving that ... sometime.
Music ... well I am not a musician but I still love it. I listen to it all the time and stream it everyday through my website. My tastes range wide as you can see here:

Yep getting some nasty snow squalls off of Lake Manitoba here.
Good luck with you Batman. I have actually been lucky enough to hold all of the first 20 or more issues in hand. About 19 years ago Doug Sulipa still had his storefront on Portage Avenue and I used to go regularily and and check out his vault for DC Funny animal and "obscure titles" At that time when I hit the "B's" He had a full run to at least #20. Actually of all the Super-heroes I think I have had little trouble seeing early issues of Batman well except the issues from the 50's but that is par for the course. DC super-hero books from much of the 50's are very scarce and most in VG or less ... but I am sure you know that ;)

Hank, if I remember correctly, isn't San Diego yours and Stacie's dream city? That's only about 120 miles away from Pasadena. So when you come to the convention, or to scout out your new home, let me know and we'll get together then.
So far I've met two posters, Gallinator and Linda, and it's been great both times. (I also met Redsun but didn't have a chance to chat much.)
Linda, I really enjoyed meeting you and I had a pretty good time at the race considering my driver (Jeremy Mayfield) is out of a job until next year.
We met a guy at the hotel who's been going to Talladega for 15 years, and he told us about a secret way to the track that avoids the massive traffic tie-ups. We tried it and it really worked! We didn't encounter traffic until we came within 500 yards of the parking lot, while the traffic on I-20 was backed up to the Mississippi border.
Hey y'all, Linda is every bit as nice as you'd think she is, and has a charming southern accent. She introduced me to grits at Waffle House, a southern haute cuisine sort of place, and surprisingly I didn't hate them.
I don't know where the next track my sister plans to visit is, or if I'll go with her, but if anyone lives near Pocono or the Michigan speedway, let me know and we'll try to arrange a meeting.

Ox, I've been to most of the comic stores within the Perimeter Highway in Winnipeg about 8 years ago.
I had business meetings to attend on a Tuesday, flew in on Saturday, rented a vehicle, watched the Superbowl on Sunday, went comic-book hunting all day Monday.
Didn't find anything I wanted and most of the comic shop attendants simply grunted when I asked them for old back-issues (no offense to your beautiful city Hank!).
Yep, hard to find for sure.

Hmm I was still working at one of the stores on the weekend at that time ... if I remember correctly. There are only two stores with "old" books left. The Bookshelf (my LCS) and he only has maybe two long boxes worth of Silver age (and maybe one or two GAs) and Styx (now Comics America) who you would NOT want to buy from because he is a crappy grader and sells his books for unrealistic prices. I do buy the occasional back issue for modern stuff there, but lets put it this way, unless he has a 50% sale on back issues at the time you will pay two grade levels higher than the actual grade (that is if the book is G you will pay VG/FN or FN)! Great place to go to find new stuff though not at a discount.
There is one home based person I know of that has old stuff but that is by appointment only. Another sells as ferd44 on Ebay (he is a sloppy grader).
Then there is Doug Sulipa who does mail order out of Steinbach. He is great. Good grader really great to talk to and has one of the most impressive wharehouses I have ever seen.
The GA and SA scene dried up in the store fronts a LONG time ago and what remains, except for The Bookshelf, is wildly over priced.
Mind you for however bad it is here Calgary is really dry. There are only three stores that I know of and they have even less SA and GA combined than The Bookshelf.

Pasnat,
I also had a great time meeting both you and your sister! I'm sorry to say but I can't remember your sisters name? Please PM and tell me what it is? I'm just not good with names and until I have put the name with the person more than a few times, I'm just hopeless!!
Boy, I'm glad ya'll didn't get in that mess on I-20. I heard it was a bogger bear!!

Hey everyone, Linda..thanx for starting this thread..we can't wait to meet you too..Camper, yeah we got some snow but it was over shadowed by a truck running into and collapsing part of one of our major bridges as well as the bank Stace and I use was robbed on the same day .(do they still rob banks???). Don't worry about slamming Winterpeg...it really does suck (especially for comics). Hope your woes are going, going,,gone. Hang in there man. Pas, Stace and I are trying to take a quick 3 day vacation to San Diego this Jan. for her birthday.....we'll let you know if we can do it and maybe hook up for a bit. Anyways gotta run off to work, talk 2 ya all later.
Hank.

I agree with on that and with Ox about most of the stores here. Hey Ox, is the person you have to see by appointment Brad or Brent Harder "The Collector's Slave"...if it is he's a really nice guy with an impressive collection in his basement. I've bought lot's of early Spideys off him at conventions. And Doug Sulupa is one of the overstreet comic book advisors....I too used to go to Comic World on portage and pick up many bargains back in the seventies. I still have one of his price guides from back then.....it makes you cry

Greg Harder. Yeah he is a good gu I have bought quite a bit off him over the years ... mostly at conventions though. He is a VERY strict grader .... almost too strict sometimes .... but that benefits the buyer.
