Hi everyone,
It's getting to be that time of the year!! So what I would like to know is if ya'll would like to have a Christmas card exchange? This means snail mail, folks!!
I would love to send out and get Christmas cards from everyone. I do have a few names and addresses from last year but I know we have had some new members since then.
We can either post the info here (not a good idea?) or just send PMs to each other. Or everyone could send me your name and address and I could make up the list and send it out to everyone on the list, that way NO names and/or addresses will be made public?
Any takers?? Anyone else have a better idea about it?

As well as x-mas cards do we want to exchange comic books as presents to each other too (like a ten or twenty dollar limit) and draw everyones name into pairs ...example: Camper sends present to Linda, Linda sends to Camper, Disney sends to Satan and Satan sends to Disney..etc. Whoever wants to get in on it. Just a thought, or we can try a secret santa sort of thing. I would love to do something along these lines. :P

Well I'm willing to send postcards.. I've actually got a couple of people who are getting cards from every country I visit... and since I don't have address other than e-mail it's kind of a one way exchange.

I'm all in!
Since Linda got this rolling, I'll PM my address to Linda (same as last year if you still have it).
I can't find your address anymore, Linda, so I'll need it from you again.
I'm okay with the Master List idea too so that we can all send cards to everyone interested.
I'm okay with the comics gift idea too.
Maybe since Hank and I are Canadian (and Oxbladder too if he's in), if we do the comics gift idea, we should keep the shipping costs down by picking someone else from your own country.
Of course, folks like yarmak could be out of luck???

I'm in too, Linda. Not sure about the gift exchange since I don't know what other people would like. Maybe something small and unique to your hometown? Like you could send some sort of peach gift, or eelkat could send a lobster, etc.

I like the idea about exchanging gifts too. Thanks, Hank!
So everyone don't forget to send me your address so I can put it on the master list.
The only one I have heard from has been camper. hint, hint

OK boys and girls,
I have only six names on the list at this time. So ya'll need to get them in to me. I'm working on sending out the master list the Monday before Thanksgiving (US) which I think is like November 20th.
If ya'll don't think that is early enough let me know and I can send it out a bit earlier?
Later Gator,

Hi, remember me? I'm so embarrased about how long it's taken me to get back into the Corral  Not that it's a good excuse but life has been so very hectic around here. The main thing was my little sister's wedding over our Thanksgiving long weekend on October 7th. For 4 months leading up to the wedding I was so busy getting ready for it. But it's all done and now Henry and I are focusing all of our attention on work and education so that we can move down to paradise (San Diego) as soon as possible!
However, like I said, it's still not a good enough excuse as to where I've been. But I'm back now! And even though I probably won't be chiming in as much as Henry, you'll still hear from me way more often.
Now about the Christmas Card idea...We Love It!!! As soon as I post this reply we'll be sending Linda a PM with our new address since we moved back in April. And we'd love a copy of that list since there's NOTHING I love more than Christmas and sending out cards. I know, I know, I'm wierd.
As for the little gift idea, we also really like Pasnat's idea of sending something from your own city. For example, I collect shot glasses from different cities and countries (hint, hint, LOL). And when it comes to Christmas we don't care about shipping costs, whether it's to Portage La Prairie, Manitoba (Oxbladder) or all the way to Australia (Yarmak), I just love this holiday that much!!! Henry's a Halloween man himself, but he comes around in December - I think it's just to make me happy, but I'll take it however I can get it!
Once again, sorry for being away for so long...but I'm back!!!

Hi Stacey,
Glad to hear from you!! And I believe when you said that life can be hectic somethings. That is the "Nature of the Beast" after all !
I got your PM and you & Hank have been added to the list. That makes Seven (7) folks on my little list. So come on folks and send me them address!!!!!!
Stacey, you are a girl after my own heart. I also collect shot glasses from all our trips & travels. Arthur even made me a case to put on the wall for them but I have since out grown that and now he needs to make some more or a bigger one!! He has some many things on his "honey do" list that when he comes home he is going to be busy for years!!

Hi Guys,
Got a question for you. Should I post this over on the ebay board and just combine a list or just start one other there for just the ebay folks?
I thought it might help been some folks over here too.
Linda
Hi Linda,
Sounds like a good idea to me!

The international posters here are either going to get two cards from me, or they're going to get one a little late.
I bought five international air fare stamps from the automated postal center. When I got home, I opened the packet and saw a stamp with a 4 on it. I put them on the cards, thinking the 4 was a generic code, such as the Postal Service has used in the past when they raised the price of stamps but didn't have any printed with the new prices yet; the C stamp became the 32¢ stamp, later D became the 37¢ stamp etc.
After mailing the cards, I saw that there were other stamps, 80¢ stamps in the pack. I was supposed to mail the card with two stamps for a total of 84¢! It never occured to me that I was supposed to use two stamps!
Anyway, I remailed to the international but don't know when they'll arrive. I haven't received the first set, the ones with insufficient postage, back yet. So maybe the USPS is feeling magnanimous at this time.
