Marvel hit an all-time low just to hit a #600 "milestone".

I picked up Hulk #600 and wondered why my Excel spreadsheet on this series has my placing #600 in the slot where #599 (or #13 of new series) would go.
Now the completionist in me seems to be missing a comic book in there somewhere.

I looked back through my Hulk books (starting with #102) and this is what I gather Marvel did based on the gallery of covers they have at the end of #600.

Hulk #1-6 (not included in the countdown to #600)
Tales To Astonish #1-101
Incredible Hulk #102-474
Hulk Vol 2 #1 - 112
Hulk Vol 3 #1 - 12
Hulk #600

Looking at the books above only gets me to #599 so where's the missing book?
At first I figured Marvel included #113 "Incredible Hercules" book to reach #600 but after looking through their Cover Gallery in #600, they included "Hulk Minus 1" between #454 and #455 to get to #600.

Okay, who really cares right?...but hey, the anal completionist in me wants to know...

Must be that new math thing rearing it's ugly head.

It's Quesada-Math. Using TTA 1-101 makes no sense, because the Hulk didn't appear in all of those issues, plus it gets even dicier when you include issues 1-13 of the current HULK series as this series will continue, using the current numbering with issue #14 and the Incredible Hulk series will continue with issue #601!

Anyway you look at it, the numbers do not add up to 600.

Are you surprised?

Do you expect anything other than 'all time low' thinking from current Marvel leadership?

No.

They should shut down their presses and concentrate on movies and their boutique brands like Icon.

They clearly want to go digital only ASAP and just wanted to milk a few more 'milestones' for their legacy titles.

You missed the #-1 issue. Issue #-1 was published between #454 and #455.

Could be. I didn't count up the issues in his list, but since he was one short, and I didn't see the # -1 listed (broken out), that's my guess. I probably coulda worded the post better - "Hey Camper, is # -1 included in your list?" - instead of my declarative sentence "this is the one you're missing, damnit!" :)

Yes, I mention the "minus 1" issue in the 2nd last line of my original post but thanks for letting me know otherwise!!!

Ok, since the math is settled on number #600, how does it keeps going at #601 and then Hulk #13 starts......really lame.

I think #601 starts the Son of Hulk instead of Hulk, meanwhile the Son of Hulk book keeps going....again, really lame.

Jeez, I even quoted it. Sorry 'bout that, I guess I skimmed too quick. Feel free to throw garbage at me!

Okay...will anything recent printed by MARVEL do?
